“Halloween Party night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We found the best price for this hotel on Priceline. We got it on a blind bid and got it for under $50 for the night. The hotel usually has good service, clean rooms, a pool, free Wi-Fi and a light breakfast. Its a great value for the price.

This hotel is located a short walk from basically everything downtown (e.g. the convention center is on 7th, just about 6 blocks away or something, and it's right across from the Anchorage Museum). The rooms are generally fine--about average noise. You do have to ask for any kitchen appliances or utensils that you want. They don't clean the room every day, unless you pay an extra fee, but you can replace towels at the front desk anytime. Pool was shut down while I was there but the exercise equipment looked new. Breakfast was spartan.

I had a huge complaint about the temperature in my room. I shut the thermostat off, as it was 80 (yes, 80 F) degrees when I got there. No improvement, so I unplugged the heater and still had to sleep with the window open the whole time I was there--it was 20 degrees outside and I had the window all the way open every night to get the temp down near 60.

Staff was friendly however. For the price it's a fine place to stay.

Great job these guys and gals are doing. Have stayed here for 6 months this year and their customer service is top notch! Good location next to the Moose's Tooth and several other restaurants. Good coffee and snacks for breakfast when you wake up as well.

was able to get this room last minute for a great price on priceline. The location worked great for us. We only stayed 1 night. Son was able to get rid of some extra energy by swimming and exercising. Pizza was a phone call away. Quick grab and run for breakfast. Had coffee available from the time we arrived to the time we left.

Here is the skinny:

Hotel is an average, basic hotel. Keep in mind, for whatever reason, decent hotels go for $200 plus a night in downtown Anchorage. This was about $100 - so it was fine. No frills: Basic sparsely decorated room.....

Parking is odd - but again as a first timer to Anchorage, things are oddly laid out in the city. It is more like a really poorly designed office park in the city. You have to pay $10 a day for one of the spots behind the hotel. However they only have maybe 40 spots for a hotel with about 80-100 rooms. However they don't reserve the spot - so it is conceivable that they sell the same spot multiple times during busy times.

It is essentially a place where you crash for a few hours. 3 stars is on the generous side.....but the clerk at the front desk was nice......

Basic no frills hotel.

The hotel is in a fantastic spot. One block away from the Anchorage Museum (which is totally worth going) and a short 5-7 minutes walk to the main downtown streets, 4th and 5th. The room is quite big, the only problem we had with the hotel is that it wasn't very clean.

We had to change rooms because the one they had given us hadn't been cleaned and all the bedding was still on the floor. The hallways hadn't been vacuumed and looked dirty. Once we changed rooms, we were fine (though we still found a random belt on the floor). The bathroom is quite big and the bed was super comfortable.

Breakfast was ok. They had oatmeal, muffins and cookies.

On the plus side, they have a complimentary shuttle to the airport (about a 15 minute drive) and all staff were super nice. They have a small pool and gym, but I didn't use any of those to comment.

If you're looking for an upscale hotel, this is definitely not the place, but if you're looking for an affordable, well located and comfortable room, then check definitely check it out.

We spent one night in this hotel and it was not relaxing or restful. The rooms are old and need updating, I really didn't even want to sleep on the sheets they were so threadbare. The best part was the fire alarms that went off twice during the night causing us to evacuate, and never did a hotel employee let us know it was OK to go back inside. They never even apologized for the inconvenience. I'd sleep in my car before staying at this hotel again.
