“Quiet, comfortable, relaxing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

This is a beautifully decorated B&B, and Pauline is a wonderful host. Her husband is also a very pleasant guy to talk to.

Breakfast was very good.

Room (and rest of house) was spotless.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived.

our stay was wonderful! Jim & Pauline were very open and friendly, helpful with dinner options and great breakfast that could be modified to dietary needs. A very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. the outdoor hot tub area could have used a sheltered spot for the robes and shoes. (for winter)

Room Tip: go for the room with the jetted tub! the view is amazing! and bring slippers or house shoes, no shoe...

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! What a wonderful photo of the front room, thank you for posting it as we don't currently have that angle on our site.

Your idea about an outdoor covered area for robes and shoes is excellent, we've been putting on our snow covered robes for years and never considered the alternative! We will start looking at a temporary solution until the ground thaws and we can do something permanent.

Enjoy the rest of the winter and we look forward to seeing you next time!

Pauline and her Alaska Sundance Retreat B&B are hidden Alaskan treasures in Anchorage. The B&B is upscale and comfortable in every way. She is a knowledgeable lifetime Alaska native. She grew up in Fairbanks and remote hunting camps and is willing to answer any Alaska question. If she doesn't know the answer she may call her mother in Fairbanks.

Sundance retreat is wonderful. Perfectly clean with a spectacular view and excellent food. Pauline and Jim were welcoming hosts and eventhough we were tired from many hundreds of miles, we spent a relaxing evening with our hosts and other guests. A little drive from downtown Anchorage but so worth it. Thank you Pauline and Jim.

Sundance Retreat is the best of the best! I truly believe that this bed and breakfast has one of the most spectacular views in Anchorage. The moment we walked through the door, I felt at peace. A beautiful home in a beautiful spot, with every comfort you can think of. Pauline and Jim were wonderful hosts and really thought of every last detail to make their guests feel totally pampered. We woke up to the smell of fresh ground coffee, and the sound of great relaxing music piped into our room. The steam shower was amazing, and the heated floors were a luxurious treat. We will certainly return and have already recommended this B and B to all of our friends in Alaska.

The pictures do not due this wonderful B&B justice! It is a gorgeous home, with wonderful owners and exquisite rooms. I stayed in and recommend the "Forget Me Not" room. It is a well appointed room with a very comfortable queen bed, and a stunning view of the Alaska landscape from both the bedroom and bathroom. I normally sleep poorly away from home, but slept better here than in my own bed! The jacuzzi bath is top rate, with adjustable jets and rotating color lights option in the tub. The rooms have ceiling speakers that play a variety of soft music throughout the day. You can have them on in your room or bathroom, if you choose. The breakfasts are delicious and filling, a wonderful to start your day in Anchorage. Jim and Pauline (the owners) offer complimentary beverages in the evenings, and have a lovely bar and lounge area for their guests. If you're coming to Anchorage, this is the place to be!

Room Tip: Stay in the "Forget Me Not" Room. It has the best view of the 3 and is larger than the Ser...
