“A step into the past with all your modern needs met!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

The location of this hotel is GREAT! You are right downtown where all of the stores and shops are located. The rooms are very clean and modern and yet they have not lost the feel of their past history. Photographs line the hallways showing what things were like "back when." The continental breakfast was satisfying, and the staff friendly. Parking off site was extra and we had a problem one night when the lot was full (it is not used exclusively by the hotel). Also, they claim the hotel is haunted, but since that is NOT an attraction I want to experience, I was glad I did not find that out until the day we were leaving. Looking back, however, there was a knock on our door and when I went to see who was there, the hallway was empty.......

Room Tip: We were guests during a summer heat wave - really it reached 90 degrees and the hotel does not have...

This was a ideal spot for the city center. Only problem is parking is away and extra cost. We were pleased with the room and breakfast was okay. Looked for the haunted but found no one there that night in June.

nice, clean, old small rooms, but who spends much time in the room in a place like this? It was plenty for just one of me. If I had bee there with a family it may have been tough. I had wanted a haunted room, but saw absolutely no activity, so was a little disappointed. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but everything one would need. Location was great. On the weekends, during the summer there is an artisan's market a block away that is wonderful with some very talented artists. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: First time in Anchorage, and I took the trolley tour for and hour for $20. Was well worth it to see...

If you read the Lonely Planet, this place is marketed as a boutique hotel. Not sure it quite lives up to that billing. The room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and well located in the centre of town.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nice rooms, comfortable lobby, helpful staff, and convenient location. An added bonus is that the Alaska Railroad depot is just two blocks away. The price is roughly the same as those charged by the usual national chains.

We stayed in the Anchorage Hotel on July 4th, 2013. The room was huge! A nice plus after a week in an RV touring Alaska. The hotel is within easy walking distance to many restaurants and downtown activities. The breakfast is weak unless you like empty carbs. Overall we were very satisfied.

Great hotel. Best location in the city. At walking distance from main tourist points. Top helping staff. Excellent rooms (we stayed in two different rooms). Excellent breakfast. Family style-very helping at all times. Great beds and bathrooms. It is about time to put airconditions in rooms. The world gets wormer and there are few days in Alaska that require cooling systems. Parking is very convenient.
