“Best hotel on our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with how great this hotel is. It is very centrally located, close to the downtown shops and restaurants. It is right near a Walmart, which came in very handy in picking up supplies and snacks for our hiking trip we planned. The exercise facility was updated and immaculate, and the hotel in general was super clean. The breakfast goes above and beyond the typical free breakfast that you get at most hotels, and was delicious. We had a slight issue with using our Hilton reward points, but this was quickly resolved by the front staff with no issues. It was hard to go to the second half of our trip and leave this place! Don't go anywhere else in anchorage!!

After staying at a series of high-priced hotels in Denali, Barrow, Valdez and Faribanks that are below motel standards in the lower 48, and not having had any good rest because the properties are cheaply built with very loud plumbing and any time anyone walked upstairs it sounded like moose moving around (I am not a picky sleeper at all), I was sooo happy to finally have a good night sleep!

This hotel is expensive, but offers good value! It doesn't look fancy from the outside, but once inside, everything was tasteful. Dark wood and granite tones. Contemporary design. Structure appears to be solid. Quiet plumbing. Quiet neighbors. Very nice and spacious two-room suite. Good furniture. Quality bedding. Up-to-date decor and up-to-date electronics. Crabtree & Evelyn toiletry items.

Good breakfast. Nice business center with fast Internet and good printer. Staff nice and professional!!

Great hotel!

We stayed at The Embassy Suites three times during our recent vacation, and the accommodations were great. The rooms were clean, comfortable and appealing, the restaurant had good food, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the two free drinks each evening that were offered past the usual time, and we loved the cooked to order breakfasts, courtesy van, laundry room, etc. They have everything we were looking for! Kudos!

Great hotel. We were only there one night but I'd definitely stay again. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great. Drinks at happy hour were good. They didn't have any appetizer or snacks out.

When I inquired at the desk about safety and a good route for a run, they were very well informed about the area and gave me a great route to take. The best run ever! Beautiful running or walking paths very near.

The gym is a little small but was functional and had everything I needed.

This is good value for your money.

We stayed at the E. Suites in August on the night before we headed out for Kenai Penisula. A perfect fit for us! The rooms clean and big. We loved the manager's happy hour (drinks and snacks) and the FREE HUGE breakfast the next morning was a great way to start a long day of travel. Terrific service (especially Doug). Kids loved the pool, too. We loved it so imuch we ended up staying there again on the back end of our trip.

My husband and I stayed at the Embassy Suites for two nites before venturing to Brooks Lodge in Katmai National Park, and for one night on our return before we picked up our train to the cruise ship in Seward. Our experience here was beyond our expectations but what one would expect from a Hilton property. Extremely late check-in was a breeze and our room request was honored cheerfully. Fabulous breakfast in the AM and we were delightfully filled "to the gills." Had dinner on our last nite downstairs in the lounge and it was delicious and well priced. Happy hour gets you two drinks on the house, which is was very busy both nites we were there. Just loved the hospitality in this lounge.
Wonderful bed to sleep off the jet lag and super quiet room location. Spent the day acclimating to the new time zone and a super meal at the Crow's Nest at the Captain Cook which was worth the price. Shuttle service from the hotel to just about everywhere if you don't have a car. Staff is use to helping tired travelers to and from just about every train or airport going to and from Anchorge. Location is a little out of the "downtown" Anchorage walking area, but the shuttle will drop and pick you up if you want to venture over. Mall across the street for anything you may have forgotten -- just like home! Great gym; great pool;great front desk; we could LIVE in this hotel and would not hesitate to book again. Prices are steep and book early for the summer -- it does fill up quickly!

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be super! Only four floors so there is no huge height to the building as are...

Plan ahead if you are traveling for fun: we booked in advance by about 5 months and got a great rate.
This is NOT your typical embassy suites. Yes, the rooms are similar. But the design and public areas are very modern, clean, updated and stylish.
We were concerned that we would rather have a hotel in downtown... but we were literally 5 minutes away and liked the location better anyway. (Downtown has a certain grunge factor.)
Great laundry, fitness and pool facilities. Free parking. VERY friendly and supportive staff. Felt like home for our time in Anchorage.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room away from elevators, you are in for a hike. We still liked it, but felt like...
