“worst campsite ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We stayed here on a four day trip to euro Disney and paris. It was a nightmare.Pitch was all over grown, toilets were extremely dirty, dogs allowed to run about everywhere, disco music to after 2 in morning.when we went up to complain we were laughed at being asked "you don't like to party party".Cars were driving about campsite all through the night.I didn't not feel save here, I was very surprized to return at night to find our caravan was still in one piece.....I would not advise anyone to stay here it was the worst ever campsite I have ever stayed on

With some friends we decided to visit paris, however since hotels are expensive we decided to go for the cheaper option that is camping. We stayed in a "tente cyprus", however the tent was not clean (it had grease/dirt marks on the floor where the cabinets and gas can were), there was dust and hair on top of the cupboards. There was hair on all of the blankets, and we could not close two of the windows due to them being on a slope. We were located right next to the showers, which didn't bother us, however the showers/toilets area was not cleaned regularly. Whenever we went into the showers there was cigarette ashes on the soap dish. There was also no toilet paper in the toilet, and one of the toilet seats broke at the beginning of our stay and had not been fixed when we left (5 days later)
On the website it also advertises for a shop, restaurant and a bar. However we were far from imagining that all of 3 of them were the same! The shop is 4 shelves on the side of the bar, the restaurant is 4 empty tables and the bar is awful. The shop/bar/restaurant is run by a couple, and when we tried to go to the restaurant one evening we were rudely ignored by the woman who looked at us, then looked in her purse to then talk to someone sitting at the bar, needless to say we didn't eat there. We went to the bar one evening and found out that they shut whenever they want (In this case 9:30).
However, one of the thing that was annoying to us was that we had been told when we arrived that when we left, we would have to leave between 8:00 and 10:00, however came the time for us to leave, we got up early and were ready to leave at 8:45. I went to the reception where it says that the reception itself didn't open before 9!
The one good thing about the campsite is that it is well located.

After staying in a lovely campsite in Normandy, we booked this campiste due to it's location for access to Paris and Disney. The location was excellent for both. The staff in the main office were very helpful and polite. The mobile home we stayed in looked very tired but was clean. The whole site looked very tired and needed a team of gardeners to tidy the place up and maintain it. When we arrived a cup of tea was needed but there was no kettle. We then decided to put our pizza in the oven but...no oven!! Just a hob, although there was a microwave.
We then decided to look around the site. The small park was good for the kids. The site seemed to have people living there, some people who lived there and forgot to come back!! There was also a number of contract workers on the site whilst we there, although to be fair, they had a couple of drinks in the bar, had some food and were all in bed for the 10pm time all with no fuss.
The tent pitches looked very poor and some tents were pitched on gravel, I can only assume they had camp beds or air beds to sleep on!! On our tour at the bottom of the site was a rubbish tip which was smouldering!!
Our first night saw a restless night as some french holiday makers decided to stay up until 1.45am drinking and socialising. We did complain at the office and fortunately the group were leaving that day.
Our pitch was under a huge tree and the verada was covered in leaves and twigs, as it was windy we could not stay on the veranda as we would have been bombarded with the debris of twigs and leaves!!
Overall, very tired campsite, excellent location, we would not stop here again.

We booked this site for three nights at the end of a seaside holiday further north, as a base from which to visit Paris for the day and to spend a day at Disney. We really just wanted a place to pitch and get a hot shower each day, as between the drive down, the drive back and the two busy days out-and-about, we knew we wouldn’t be spending much time there. We are not fussy campers and had spent four nights on a lovely site with no amenities other than showers, washing up and toilets, housed in a large barn.

Camping le Parc is undeniably well-placed for Paris and was the only park of the three I approached via e-mail to even respond to my enquiry. Their on-line reservation and confirmation service was efficient and friendly. There is a very well-equipped play area, which includes a bouncy castle/slide affair and the area for tents is in a little wooded space, close to this. The site has a secure entry system and is near several small towns where you can buy bread, etc.

For some reason I still don't understand, we were not assigned to one of the empty pitches in the area for tents, but instead to what appeared to be a very tiny camper or caravan pitch, next door to a row of the park’s rental accommodation. There was very little grass at all on the pitch and we were unable to get pegs for our tents into the rock-hard ground. The pitch was littered with sticks and rocks and was one of the smallest we have pitched on, either in France or the UK. As it was extremely hot, the neighbouring chalets had their windows open wide and we were treated to whatever French dross they were watching on TV at high volume; on the first night, until after ten and on the second night (they were watching an especially exciting French TV movie) until midnight. We arrived after reception had closed, so had no choice but to pitch there.

The sanitation block looks great at first glance: modern, with ample showers, including disabled, family-size and a special mini washroom with small size fittings for the young ‘uns. Unfortunately, every toilet seat was missing (apparently deliberately so) and the modern soap and commercial-size toilet roll dispensers were all empty for the duration of the stay, again this seemed to be a choice on the part of the proprietors. Now, I’ve stayed on the odd French site that expects you to bring your own and on one occasion at a site so chavvy, people actually stole the soap, but Camping Le Parc does not claim to be basic and for camping, was not especially cheap. On top of this, only half of the lights in this large building actually worked, putting much of the facility out of use after dark and neither sink in the ‘kids’ bathroom worked at all. To add insult to injury, the showers were icy cold on two of the three occasions I used them.

There was just a general lack of care about the place. Even in the tent area proper, pitches were camped to death and no care had been taken to keep the ground in good condition, as is the case in the smallest of camp-sites I have stayed in. On these pitches, the really bad parts had been filled in with, of all things, gravel! Well, why not? Gravel is just so snuggly, when you're camping. I hope those unfortunate enough to camp there had airbeds.

This is a massively busy site, with hundreds of campers, yet the toilet block was cleaned just twice a day – there was a sign-in sheet displayed, which attested to this. Most worryingly, it was not cleaned at all on Sunday. The place was filthy when we arrived in the early evening and dog mess that someone had walked up and down in there was still in evidence when we left for the day at 10 AM on Monday. The block HAD been cleaned when we returned at 10PM and miraculously, the empty spaces on the sheet had been filled-in, claiming that the place had been cleaned TWICE on Sunday and at 8am and 1pm that day too! I don’t think so.

One to avoid.

We just needed a base from which to visit Paris, Parc Asterix and the surrounding countryside and this campsite fitted the bill. The mobile homes are small, not brilliantly equipped (no kettle) but very clean and the staff were friendly. The small shop sold fresh baguettes and pastries every morning. We paid around £300 for a four night stay in high season which is reasonable for the time of year.
We recommend the lake nearby for swimming and Paris is about 40 mins on the train. However, do beware of pickpockets on the Paris Metro, we had a wallet stolen.

This was the worst site I ever visited. We arrived about 6-7 in the evening, & paid for 2 nights. They only accepted cash, & I just had enough to pay, but was short of 10e for deposit for a gate fob, so they took what I had left. We were given a map of the site with our pitch marked. The roadways were narrow dirt tracks, with hedges either side. It was extreamely dificult to get our 22` caravan around without damaging it. When we found the pitch we did not have space to manoover it in, so we had to drive through a very tight tented area to get back to the reception because there was not space to turn around. We were then given another pitch, that my car could not push the van onto because it had a very high verge. Once again we had to go through the tented area to get out. On the way back to reception we stopped to use the toilets. They were disgusting. Absoluteley filthy, & no toilet seats. I`d seen enough & went & requested my money back. In fairness to them they gave me a full refund.

after a trip to euro disney,we (2 adults 2 kids 7&10) wanted a site to relax near Paris for a couple of days,We saw advert for site in the ACSI site guide which promised a quiet well equiped site with bar, restaurant and 2 pools ,1 indoor and 1 outdoor, exactly what we needed after disney! After checking in and paying for 2 nights for our motorhome we were taken to an excuse for a pitch just in front of the toilets, rough uneven ground, with weeds 3 feet high surrounding the toilet block! Our pitch even had a sewer manhole just where we would normally set up out table etc.! THERE ARE NO POOLS ON THIS SITE. The bar and restaurant are in porta-cabins! need I say more? we did not stay longer than the one night we had to because of our late arrival and were unable to get refund for second night (41.50 euro)
