“Interesting and good sushi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

We went here for sushi and didn't try anything else, but at least those rolls was very good. Lots of different variations, very delicately served as well. Service was very good too.

“Great Japanese-inspired cuisine and great atmostphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2010

Wann Japanese Izakaya is located in the Belltown area near Lenora and 2nd Avenue. I came on a Thursday evening at 8:30pm and sat at the bar. It was very mellow with a few groups of people...perfect after a long day of work.

I ordered the Kobe Beef Yakisoba. The meal arrived in approximately 10 minutes. Talk about presentation. I should have taken a picture of the bowl. The entree was a mixture of noodles, different vegetables, and spices. All the flavors were balanced. Nothing was obscured.

The service was top notch. Overall, I was very pleased.

“Japanese Tapas at a great price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2009

We always enjoy our meals at Wann Izakaya. Mondays are a great deal, as the happy hour food menu is offered all night. Definitely have the Brie Tempura with the raspberry dipping sauce! Last time we were there, the service was kind of slow, but we were with friends, and just kept talking through the waits. The shortribs were too salty to eat, but the Ika was wonderful, as were the tofu pillows. also had an Unagi handroll, which had Shiso leaf inside, a HUGE plus on my scorecard!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2009

Good food, good amount of variety while keeping the amount of different dishes small enough to secure the quality of each dish. Very pleasant and kind service, if occasionally forgetful, great interior and ambience (nice down tempo music in the background)

My favourites: Yellow tail collar, Shishamo, Fire Castle, Seafood Kamameshi and Mushroom Kamameshi and Chamame (=edamame), they are better here than most other places.
The sashimi was great the first time I was there. but yesterday the tuna smelled and tasted a bit old to me.
If you're into dessert, I can warmly recommend the green tea ice cream mochi and the crème brûlé.
Happy hour all Monday, from 5-7 Tuesday-Thursday, from 11PM-2AM Fri-Sat
