“Good spot for a little snack”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This is a super casual little French cafe' on the 4th Ave. side of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. We had a quick lunch here after checking into a hotel across the street (concierge recommended). The sandwiches were carefully made and good (although slow) but the thing I remember the most is the "sticky bun." It may not be particularly French, but it was particularly good!

“Average with limited availability”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

We went to the Madison location, being nearby and wanting a nice lunch. We should have kept walking. The atmosphere and store next door were great, very light and clean, with Saturday wine tasting (only one type served though). However the choices for lunch were extremely limited. Either everything was sold or they just don't make much. The special of the day wasn't available, which was rather unfortunate and took over 5 min for us to be told. The sandwiches were basic, ham and cheese, or turkey. I wasn't really impressed with the selection. The register service, as noted prior, wasn't very good. There seemed to be an attitude and esp since we had spent over 5 min talking about ordering the special, it wasn't till he took the order that he told us it wasn't available. Not impressed for the price and location, as there are numerous other establishments to visit nearby.

“OOH-LA-LA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Cute and cozy French cafe located in the Fairmount Olympic. My husband could not stop raving about the Baguette sandwich with Dry Salami and Olive salad. SO TASTY! Also, delicious was the ham and gruyere sandwich. Bread was fresh and crispy. A must try is the Lavender Macaron. It's quite sweet so make sure to get an expresso to offset the sweetness.

“Barely passable.........”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Yes, this is another cute Seattle dining spot, for very light lunches or pastries. However every lunch item I've ordered was sooooo salty. The house soup (mushroom), the quiche....they really make me gag. No amount of liquid can ease that saltiness. The pastries are quite good although a bit overpriced. Also they really need to update their reader board, sitting out in front. When an item is depleted, they should remove that item from the board, right? Wrong! They just look at you, oblivious when you even suggest this. And let's not leave out the very slow and unresponsive folks behind the counter. Sometimes I feel like I'm interrupting them! Would I recommend this place? For pastries, maybe, but for any other reason, probably not.

“Awesome goodness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Loved it. Brings back memories of Paris. So much better than Le Panier at Pike Place Market. Kinda out of the way.. a long drive on Madison from the Waterfront but well worth it. We just tried the macarons and the croissants are they were some of the best we ever had. Light, buttery, flakey.. so good. Didn't try the coffee or anything else on the menu.
