“Food With A Flare (and a flame)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

From the time you enter the restaurant, you know that you have entered a place frozen in time--and that is not a bad thing.

Service is at a high and formal level. If people were still allowed to smoke in restaurants, you just know that the place would be filled with cigar smoke.

My meal was very well done. I had the seared oysters (perfect), the apple salad (tasty), the french cut bone-in ribeye (grill to perfection), and sides of roasted corn (you have to try it) and a fully loaded baked potato the way fluffed at the table by my waiter (Chris). For dessert, I had the banana bread pudding which provided a sweet and delicious ending to my meal.

There are a lot of tableside open flames going on to catch your dinner. I did not have any but there is a steak dish which is present in glowing flames at the table as well as bananas foster that is done with a tableside flare.

Best steak house I know? No. Worth the slightly higher pricepoint? You bet. Mainly because of the outstanding service. Thanks Chris!

“Exquisite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I went several times to El Gaucho for dinner and for Happy Hour.
The service, the food, the drinks, everything was fantastic.
This is the kind of restaurant you go to when you want to celebrate something special.
And regarding their happy hour, it is a very good deal as you got the same quality, service but at half the price for some dishes.
This is one of my favorite restaurant in Seattle.

“THE BEST STEAK EVER!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I've been to both El Gaucho's and found they are equally good. However, I love going to Bellevue as it is closer. My husband would bring home the appetizer Steak Diablo for dinner some nights as the sauce is excellent if you like a tiny kick. I eat my steak well done which I know is a big no no but I just don't care for bloody plates. Anyway, my well done steaks are never over cooked or char'd and I can always use a butter knife. :)

“Best Tartare Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Great waiter, great table side prep of salad and tartare. Great vodkas that the bartender infuses himself. Don't be surprised if they bring a giant fruit/nut tray with some cheese to your table following dinner
