“We really liked dinner here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

We dropped by for Restaurant week and the $28 3 course dinner. Service was both very personal and very professional. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. Particular standouts were my husband's mushroom soup and my arugula salad. The cioppino was lovely but saltier than I like. Awesome dry gin martini, too. We will be back.

“Perfect for before the theater”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We have dined here a few times before shows at the theater. The service has always been attentive but not overbearing. Our food has always been above avg in quality with adequate portions. The wine by selection is a bit limited but has quality offerings by the glass and bottle. The pork and salmon dishes were both excellent as were the pasta dishes others enjoyed. For those on the fence on which pasta to choose, you may select a sampler entree that allows you to choose 3 different pastas. Stop by and enjoy a quality Italian meal.

“A hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

This remarkable place was recommended by a Seattle resident who sat by me on our flight. It is not to be missed. The food was fabulous, the service superb. We ordered two specials of the evening, a seafood fettuccine, and a halibut dinner and pasta carbonara. The waiter did bring three fettuccine dinners instead of one carbonara, but we kept the dish he brought anyway, even though he was apologetic and offered to replace it. The olive oil served with the bread had garlic and herbs infused, and it was wonderful. The owner/manager was attentive without being overbearing, quite personable, and when we returned the next day for after dinner drinks on our way back to our hotel, he remembered us, thanked us for coming again, hugged the ladies, and gave us a complimentary sparkling wine before we left. He gave us recommendations for other places to eat on our drive down the Oregon Coast, too. We would have had dinner there again the second night we were in Seattle, but we did want to try a seafood place with a water view, too. I would definitely eat at Assaggio again!

“Best Italian since eating North Beach in S.F.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

The service as absolutely awesome. Very friendly and the owner came by to see how we were doing. The food was amazing. My partner had the Salmon and I had the Beef Tenderloin. Both were delicious. They had a special sampler for an Appetizer which included a prawn, sauted spinach, and Bruschetta. Absolutely Delicious. The atmosphere was not quiet but not overly loud either. We dropped about $130 for two of us for dinner but it was well worth it!

“Nice place, could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

A solid Italian restaurant, with genuine Italian personell. The patio is right on 4th Ave so we opted for indoor. Unfortunately they have a fruitfly problem, which takes away some of the charme of a nice meal. We asked for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and got another winery than was on the winelist but it was just the same excellent. First we shared the Affettati Misti which was superb. The bread with olive-oil, by the way, was to die for. The carpacio was below par: probably too long waiting on the plate, not enough veal but overabundance of cheese. The Filetto di Manzo was heavenly but the risotto with that was not up to standard. The service is excellent and everybody is very friendly. We paid $ 103.
We still recommend but watch out for what you order. Maybe the specials are better because they would be fresh.
