A colleague and I, here for a conference in Seattle, went to dinner at Place Pigalle at the recommendation of a friend. We were fortunate to go on Halloween night, as the place wasn't very busy due to the holiday; we were seated at one of the tables by the window, which was terrific. What a charming little place with tremendous service and equally wonderful food. My colleague and I shared the delicious Dungeness crab appetizer--chilled, fresh, and just wonderful. He then had the rabbit entree, which he pronounced as "excellent." I had the special catch--halibut--that was beautifully prepared, surrounded by nicely cooked vegetables.
I couldn't resist a dessert of dried Rainier cherries in a type of torte that resembled (but that didn't taste like) pecan pie, served with a little pitcher of cream. My colleague also noted that the wines were excellent. In all, the place is just delightful, and I will recommend it to others and go back when I'm next in Seattle.
