“Best bread and pastry in Seattle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I love this place; i would pay for the smell alone; the aroma is fantastic. My favorite though is the cheese and/or spinach filled crosisants. And the location is so cool....just next to Pike Place market. I prefer to go in the morning, and get my pastry and coffee and, then (yes, there are calories...get a pastry for lunch too). Service sometimes is slow...because its so popular

Its stand up bakery...not a restaurant.

“Convenient bakery downtown”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Across the street from Pike Place market, this bakery is very convenient if you are downtown. It is always crowded with what appears to be a mix of locals and tourists. Everything I've had is good from the strawberry Josephine to the brie sandwich. The sandwiches are easy to take for later in the day. They are sold wrapped, but they will unwrap, cut and rewrap them for you if you ask. The almonds croissants and macaroons are both great.

I wouldn't consider this a destination bakery, meaning I would not drive here from somewhere else in town just to try it....the parking is minimal around there. However, if you are within walking distance, it is a great spot.

The owner seems to always be there and is friendly and happy to answer any questions about Seattle.

“Not bad but always crowded with tourists”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

La Panier is an "ok" bakery but it is always overcrowded with tourists and hard for locals like me to just slip in, pickup a loaf of bread, and head out.
