“Nice even in the rain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We decided to go on the Ferris wheel because we had a wait for our table at the Crab Pot. It was dark and raining but we thought what the heck. Great decision. The night view was really pretty. The seats are completely closed in so the rain didn't matter.

“Great View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

$13.09 to see a great view of Seattle and Puget Sound. The pods are heated for those cool rainy and windy Seattle days!

“Probably would have been more fun on a clear, sunny day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

We were in Seattle and The Great Wheel was on our agenda, so even though it was cloudy, pouring, and cold we rode it. We probably should have waited until a clear, sunny day this summer though. Since the cars are enclosed, we stayed warm and dry on the ride, but we couldn't see much. We could see the ferries in the harbor below us and a few of the closer buildings, but that was pretty much it. It would have been nice to see out across the water and see the city scape from up there. I am afraid of heights yet I never felt uncomfortable or uneasy on this ride since it's so slow and enclosed. If it wasn't so expensive to ride I would suggest we do it again this summer. I've heard the lines are long in the summer though and the closest public bathroom is in the building next door that houses the arcade and carousel and they are not the greatest facilities. You have to have a door code to get in, yet the graffiti is horrible and they are not the cleanest bathrooms. Plan ahead and use other facilities (if you can find them; they are few and far between on the waterfront) before you get to The Great Wheel.

“Rotating blah”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Have some friends from out of town visiting so thought we'd give the wheel a try, I wouldn't have tried it otherwise. Long wait for such a short line, they really need to work on better organization of the loading and unloading processes to get the line moving faster. I'm sure part of it has to do with "balancing" the wheel but it was also lack of utilizing resources too. Way too expensive for the "experience" that didn't last to long. You get three rotations; stop, start, rotate, stop. Not full smooth rotations. It's a one time deal, tourist will do it just because it will be the thing to do. Better off doing the space needle, will see more and have a better experience.

“OK, it is not the London Eye, but pretty neat nonetheless”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

If you are strolling around the Seattle waterfront, a great way to get a better view is to jump on the Seattle Great Wheel. The lines move pretty fast, and the view for the 20-minute ride is spectacular. Once you are done, you can jump over to the Aquarium, or quench your thirst at any of the restaurants and bars close by. Worth doing, especially on a sunny day if you are downtown...
