“Home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2007

Totally beautifull little house. Glowes in old warm atmosphere, very homley and clean. Just charming. The area is nice and quite, has plenty of vegetation, and the garden is beautifull, and well maintained.Katie is a great character, a great cook and very tolerable, especially towards loud but funny people (like me)
A sweet place to come back to.

Thank you Katie and Fran

This was the second time I stayed at this lovely B&B. The first time, I came alone to visit with my son (a very safe place to stay alone). The second time, my husband and I stayed (can be romantic too). There are three main things that make this an excellent destination: 1) Location 2)The Inn itself, with beautiful furnishings 3) And last but best of all, Katie's and Fran's wonderful gourmet breakfasts, conversation and general good will.
The Inn is located across the shipping canal from Ballard and Fremont. These neighborhoods are alive with Art, Music, shopping in small shops, and great food. (Try the Snoose Junction Pizzeria - It's new and my son Nate is the kitchen manager). There is a walking or biking trail that can take you over the canal by the fishing terminal and back over the Balllard Bridge. You can also grab the bus and ride downtown to the market for a buck and save on parking.
The Inn itself has a collection of fine glassware and furnishings collected over the years by Fran and her daughter, Katie. The antiques are American, European and Asian, making them a wonderful feast for the eye while you linger over coffee at the table or in the living room.
And lastly, some people are meant to be hosts, and Fran and Katie are perfect examples. Our plane was late getting into Seattle on December 25th. And even though Katie had family visiting with her, she was waiting on the back deck to welcome us and show us around. Each morning we were served taste-tempting exquisite breakfasts - from cheesy eggs to six inch high fluffy french toast. I happened to mention that the last time I stayed I loved the Crepes and guess what - the next day they appeared on the morning table. We had many interesting conversations over breakfast with the other guests and the hosts, sharing ideas and things to do in Seattle.
So, if you are looking for something more than a hotel experience - try this establishment. But please don't take my room when I need it. It's my home away from home - only better!
You should be aware, however, that Seattle is a city for walking. The rooms are on the second floor. There is also a set of stairs to get to the main door. This is easily done if you have the ability to walk unaided.
