“Run down and too many drug addicts”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The highlights of Belltown for me are Macrina Bakery (my husband's favorite thing is the Turtle Brownie - amazing, and my favorite is the Monkey Bread or sour cherry lemon pound cake.) Buy the Macrina cookbook and bake up some of the recipes yourself if you are ambitious - they are worth it. Also entertain a friend or client at El Gaucho steak house, or do a small company function (presentation/dinner) in their private dining area where the food and service was outstanding. If you could get valet parking right in front of these two places and not have to walk around the neighborhood that would be ideal. Stay away from the alleys. Years ago the TV show Frazier was filming a mugging scene in a BellTown alley when I walked by and stopped to watch. The crew said they had to clean up the alley to make it presentable enough to film it as a "bad" alley.

“average neighborhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

it looks like it's being gentrified somewhat. there are some decent restaurants and the firehouse w/ the Bell is interesting historically but it's just a neighborhood, not really a tourist destination.

“A little overhyped, but worth spending time in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Some great restaurants and bars in this neighborhood. Excellent Italian, Japanese, Morrocan and Thai cuisine can be found with a few blocks of Bell Street, and upper 1st and upper 2nd's bars and cafes are second to none. Check out the 5 points cafe at the northern extreme, the Macrina bakery in the west, and Bell Thai and Cinerama in the east.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

My Daughter & Husband own 2 Condos overlooking Pier 69 and Puget Sound, it is gorgeous. Walking distance to the Space Needle, Pikes Market, Pacific Science Center, Olympic Sculpture Park, highly Recommend Pinxto's Tapas restaurant awesome food. Belltown offers many fabulous restaurants, coffee shops and family fun. Bus transportation very easy.
