“Great time with Joe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We took the the Mt. Rainier tour with Joe in July 2013. Joe picked us up on time (a little early, but was patient), and got us going on time. He gave us a lot of insight others may not be able to offer. He even helped guide people not with our tour to keep them out of harm's way. We had great views, and he know where and where not to take pictures for the optimum experience. He even was able to convince a bear to come out of a patch and into open view (safely), so that we could take photos.

Everything was well organized, and he was very patient for those who wanted to take that last minute picture, and offered to help take pictures for the passengers. They take Goldstar, so you may be able to find a discount. Well worth the money.

Thank you for your kind review of us. I am glad that you had a great trip to Mount Rainier. This is a spectacular time to visit the mountain. July and August is spring time in Paradise and your best chance of seeing the wildflowers and black bears. Well wishes to you and your travels.-- Joel

“Winery and waterfall tour”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

This tour is overpriced. The bus had no Air conditioning which I think the driver knew because at one point he said he liked the fresh air and he didn't put it on until asked several times later in the afternoon. When he put it on the bus engine started smoking so he had to turn it off.
The driver (Cory) was pleasant enough so I have no complaint about that. The tour itself brought us to one small waterfall, 2 wineries and a chocolate factory. Lunch was not included nor was the wine tasting which we knew going in. I just think charging $90 per person to basically drive us around for a few hours is exorbitant.

“Mt. Rainier 2013-07-29: Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

I had the chance to visit Mt. Rainier on July 29th with Customized Tours. The guide (Joe) was excellent and the day very enjoyable with spectacular views of various parts of the park surrounding Mt. Rainier. It was definitely one of the big highlights of our visit of Seattle and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

“Mt Ranier tour, Seattle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We took the Mt Ranier tour from Seattle, on a twelve seat mini-bus. The tour was advertised as lasting around ten hours, but because our driver/guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, it lasted for twelve.
The guide's name was Joe, and he was full of interesting information about the Seattle area, including how to get up Seattle's steep hills without any effort, which he imparted to us on the journey to the mountain. (If you want to know how to get up the hills, take the tour, and ask him!) He was also very knowledgeable about the Mount Ranier National Park - I'm sure he knew as much about it as any of the Rangers, and probably more than some of them.
Mt Ranier and the surrounding mountains are very beautiful, and we were there on a glorious day. We saw deer and a black bear (which Joe encouraged to come out of a thicket into full view by giving a very realistic bear roar!)
We'd recommend this tour to anyone with a day to fill in Seattle

“A Great Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

My husband and I took the Winery and Waterfall tour yesterday and it was great. Our first stop was a Januck winery, very modern sleek building and tasting room and really good wines. Second stop was at Chateau St Michelle which was very crowded, partly due to their summer concert series happening that day, but we managed to squeeze up to the tasting bar for tastes. Our lunch stop gave us several options and we opted for Village Wines and had a wonderful lunch (another review). Those in the group who went to the Mexican restaurant said it was very good also. The trip to the falls was very scenic, as was the waterfall itself. Then a brief stop at a chocolate factory before heading back to Seattle. John, our driver/tour guide was great. He's funny, full of information about the area, history, etc. - and a great driver!! Definitely a recommended trip.
My only suggestions would be that the company look at ways to give people a little more time for lunch (especially since there are multiple tasting rooms in that area) - and providing bottled water on the bus.
