The food is excellent and the portions very generous. Lacation...location...location. Centrally located and easy to access. Service with a smile and a feeling of thankfulness for your business. Good food. Good people. Great service

“Best Cheesesteak on the Planet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

My family discovered Al Calozzi's world famous cheesesteaks when he was in Pioneer Square before a baseball game. I went to college in the Philly area. These cheesesteaks can hold their own with any in Philly! Al is a great guy who cares about the quality of his food and his customers. You feel like you are part of his family when you are there.

Calozzis just moved to Ranier Square on 4th between Union and University. So worth the walk from any part of Seattle. It's an easy walk from the Pike Market, Belltown and the Ferry. Chowed down on a yummy "whiz wit/out" and walked over to Nordies to buy a pair of shoes.

This is a don't miss if you a visitor and if you live in Seattle, you will become a regular. My family and our friends "dream" of a Calozzi cheesesteak.

“Reminds me of Philadelphia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

My first words after taking my first bite were "it tastes like Philadelphia". Granted, I was visiting the city of Brotherly Love, but it was so memorable. These guys have a passion for bringing a little bit their of home to us in Seattle.

By the way, I make Calozzi's part of my Sounders game day habits. Thanks guys!

“Ignore your surroundings and enjoy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

We’d heard about Calozzi’s Philly cheesesteak sandwiches from some friends who’d been recently, so we made the place our lunch destination while passing through Seattle on our way to Whidbey on a Monday. Pioneer Square is sketchy and very dirty with an ample homeless population, great architecture and interesting shops and places to eat, so be warned. Owner Al Calozzi is a true Philadelphian and proud of his sandwiches! Engage him in conversation and he’ll talk your ear off in his engaging Philly dialect, all the while aptly waiting on customers. OK now, let’s talk Cheez Whiz – you heard me, the most popular cheese topping of the selection, which includes mozzarella, provolone and American cheeses. Al swears Cheez Whiz is the new norm in Philly! Why not? He throws a large handful of frozen, paper-thin steaks onto the grill and begins a noisy, rhythmical staccato of chopping, frying, and turning as the meat sizzles away. Fascinating. He adds finely chopped red peppers and onions, the whole sloppy mess plopped into a 12-inch grinder (sub) roll with melted Cheez Whiz on top, and presented in a waxy paper for a plate. Cover your lap with napkins, laugh at the grease rolling down your arm, chat with Al between “Mmmmm-mmmmm’s,” and dig in hearty. Try to ignore your environment – pretend you’re in the Haight or a third world country or something. You’ll be back!

“GREAT FIRST PHILLY CHEESESTEAK!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012 via mobile

amazing Philly cheesesteak!!! Be sure to also order the whiz fries. The owners ( from Philly ) are so nice and inviting they make you feel like family right away. Don't let the neighborhood deter you this place is a must for anyone visiting Seattle!!!! Loved it can't wait to visit again next time I am in town. Too bad I live in buffalo,ny otherwise I'd go once a week. This is one block away from the famous "underground tour" so go on that then get some grub here!!
