“Great hotel, well situated.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

The hotel looks a little "aged" from the outside but the room I had was fantastic.
Room sizes were very good and finished very well.
Room service meals were a bit pricey but very nice. Fruit platter was very fresh and large portion.
I was somewhat disappointed that the business center was a separate charge and I couldn't do a simple thing like print a page or even use a computer quickly without a credit card. A little strange that I couldn't charge to my room or that use was not included in the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor for a great view. The blinds open and close with a button on the cor...

This hotel is great and the location is superb. It is just a few blocks from Westlake Station and around a plethora of dining, shopping and site-seeing options. You have access to almost everything in downtown Seattle from the hotel. We stayed in a Standard Double Room which was a little small for two double beds. There isn't a lot of extra space, but sufficient for a short stay. The bathroom was gorgeous, while the rest of our room was understated but very nice. Our room had a huge window and our view was awesome!

I have stayed here a few times and its nice to come back somewhere and see the same smiling faces. On each stay I have encountered Jacob or Jake the bellman. He is quite helpful and has a wonderful memory. With all the people he deals with on a daily basis he still managed to remember me as well as the timing of my previous visit.

I also ordered room service three times on this trip and in each case the food quality and service were very good. The orders arrived at the quoted time or before. No order took more than 30 minutes which I find impressive.

Room Tip: If you are able to splurge a bit, I would highly recommend getting an Emerald Suite. They are quite...

Everything one could hope for from a business hotel. The fitness center is a plus and the rooms are good. I doubt I would stay there for a vacation but for business this is an excellent place to go! The location is very convenient to all of Seattle downtown and I enjoyed walking around the Waterfront.

FINALLY ONE OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE REVIEW --- We experienced more problems with other hotels than I have ever experienced before during this 1-month trip..... it seems that in our new culture that only the GM requires skills and all other can utterly lack in people skills, be utterly rude, and that 4.0 star guarantees nothing more than a flush toilet..

NOW ENTER THE GRAND HYATT --- My saving grace on this trip --- A place to call home-- A property that I can count on--- A property that did ALMOST EVERYTHING RIGHT to where my concerns of issues would make a person seem overly picky if mentioned....

1. Hyatt Honored the Platinum Upgrade Service with a Corner Suite on Request.
2. The room was comfortable and extremely clean.
3. The room was made available for early check-in
4. The staff issued me a concierge lounge card when the room wasn't ready.
5. The staff promptly contacted me on the telephone to advice of the room ready.
6. The concierge quickly and easily arranged a tour and car service. Smooth.
7. The bellhops were fantastic and prompt on arrival and departure - and were overtipped accordingly.
8. Hallway noise was minimal.
9. Cleaning level in the room was exceptional versus the 10 other 4-star properties we'd been at over the prior weeks.

Truly a relief to be at a proper property. I only regret that we did not avail ourselves of the concierge lounge or evaluate the room service.

In any case, I am overwhelmingly given to critical review but am happy to give credit where credit is due. I was very pleased with this Hyatt property......

Now so that the reader can laugh... my only complaints--- staff not isolating platinum/diamond check-in forcing enhanced wait time. and a strange soft spherical object of some 3 inch diameter inside of a pillow ......

I would also note that the NYC Deli in the building is convenient for your room beverage needs alcoholic and non with a wide selection of beverages, sandwiches, snacks, etc. in the hotel which is extremely convenient as is the attached starbucks notwithstanding the starbucks predilection for personal chatter with customer A ahead of fulfillment of the prior customers order... When this is all one has to complain about... you know it was a good property..

But if the manager is reading my review--- Why Do I have No Points on the Revenue booking to my account ? one night was revenue...

Would probably give 4 1/2 if I could. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room very clean. We had a nice view of harbor out of the full length window with motorized sun shade (very cool)! Short walk to the market and several restaurants within just a block or two. Less than $10 to cab most anywhere downtown if the rain comes.

Overall a good hotel. As the other reviews say, great location and nicely appointed hotel. The bathroom with soaker tub is one of the best I've had (that includes Mandarin and Ritz brands). You have a title foyer, electric blinds and even a doorbell. Very complete.

Tip: On this particular stay I did changed rooms. First room was 1112 -the bed is um, well used? Incredibly squeaky when you put your bag on it, and forget about rolling over. It was somewhat humorous how loud this bed was/is actually. Every spring made a noise. Between this and a location across from the elevators there was too much noise so we moved. Overall found the rooms a bit noisy --you do hear hallway noise pretty easily even if you are in one of the corner locations. As a light sleeper this was a bit of a problem.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that face elevator or corners. Hallway noise carries easily into these rooms.
