“Space Needle right outside the window”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

So close it feels like you can touch it. I opened my curtains and whoop there it is larger than life. It is a beautiful site at night. You can walk a couple of blocks and be right at the front door or have the very convenient hotel shuttle take you there and drop you off or pick you up when you are done. This particular Hyatt is close to the Space Needle but a long walk from downtown and the convention center but the free Hotel Shuttle will take you there. Walgreens is across the street and a nice little market is just around the corner if you need to stock up for the week. I really like the hotel shuttle but sometimes on the weekend it can get busy and you have to wait to drop people off before you can get to where you want to go. I like these Hyatt Place Suite rooms as they are designed very well. This particular room the closet and shower are a little smaller than what I have seen before. , but they are still adequate I like the media outlets that allow you to hook a computer or other device to the large flat screen TV, but as in other Hyatt Place that I have notice you need to bring your own extension cord if you want to charge your phone at bedside. No problem if you want to plugin at the desk. They have adequate outlets for both the computer and multiple devices. The desk is a great work area if you need to work in the room, and is also great if you need to do a presentation on the TV. If you have extra guests there is a huge pull out sofa for them to crash on. There is a small food prep station with a place to prep food and store it underneath on the shelf or mini fridge. The morning breakfast buffet is well stocked and busy. I thought this property had a jacuzzi spa like most others but they only have a pool. if you need to relax in a hot jacuzzi like I do maybe select a different property.

Room Tip: if you can pick a West facing room high up so you can see the Space Needle

We booked a cruise to Alaska and went to Seattle a day early to enjoy the city. After researching hotels, I saw this Hyatt and compared it to another Hyatt that seemed close.

We chose this one because there was a pool on property, it offered a free buffet breakfast, and it was around $10 less expensive than the other Hyatt.

We arrived before noon and they had a room available, which is huge when you're on east coast time, have travelled for nine hours already, and had two kids and seven suitcases. We were very grateful for that. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

When it was time to go walking around, we found that the location of this hotel wasn't great. It was a few blocks from the Space Needle and surrounding attractions, but there was a lot of construction to walk through to get to it. We were a little uncomfortable walking around, there were some people begging on the street and a few sketchy alleys. You really can't walk to any of the downtown attractions from this property. It was not super easy to get a taxi from the lobby.

We decided to stay at the other Hyatt on the back end of our cruise, which was far superior in location and amenities even though their pool is off property and they don't offer free breakfast.

So, in summary, the Hyatt Place Seattle is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms if you're not a tourist on foot with your family. If you want to be close to everything, book the other Hyatt.

The Hyatt Place was a perfect place for our stay in Seattle. We own a time share through the Hyatt Vacation Club and traded our points for hotel nights. We knew going in that it would be a great place to stay as we've always been very pleased with Hyatt, but we had never stayed at a Hyatt Place so it was somewhat new to us. The room was clean and very nice. It had all of the amenities one could ask for in a hotel and it was quiet! Being on a main street, the only thing we really heard at night was the occasional emergency vehicle. In so many hotels you can hear your neighbors' doors close every time they come and go, but not here. We never heard any noise from other people staying on our floor, and the hotel was quite full judging from the number of people at breakfast each morning. The breakfast was great! They had everything you could want to choose from and it was all fresh and very good and in a very nice area right by the lobby. It was so nice not to have to fork out $20 for breakfast each day . . . and very good coffee! The location was very convenient too. We could walk to the downtown waterfront (might be too far for little kids, but easy for adults). They also have a free shuttle that we used one day when we were feeling a little too worn out to walk those blocks. It dropped us off right where we wanted to go. The Seattle Center attractions (space needle, Chihuly, Ride the Ducks) were a five minute walk from the hotel, and there was a Walgreen's right across the street which we visited twice for various things. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. If we ever go back to Seattle, we will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 9th floor in a room with a king size bed. It was very comfortable and had a great...

Excellent hotel- front desk staff were very busy but very professional and accommodating. Loved the free shuttle, comfortable beds/pillows and free wi-fi. Really enjoyed the close proximity the hotel was to most of the Seattle attractions. I never felt unsafe at the hotel - in fact, I think they had "extra" security features. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would willingly stay here again.

Thank you for being our saving grace on our 6 night stay in Seattle. We tried 2 other hotels before switching to the Hyatt Place. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Our 2 young boys slept on the L-shaped couch comfortably.

Nice, convenient breakfast. Kids enjoyed the pool. The shuttle was a great benefit. There were a few times we had to wait up to 20-30 min, but it's complimentary and that is just they way it goes. No complaints. The staff is VERY friendly.

Very Friendly Staff!! They over free shuttle service to major attractions within a mile radius - 24 hours drop off and pick up. View of space needle and 2 blocks walk to Space Needle. There is a Walgreens across the street. 2 blocks from hotel is also a bunch of restaurants and bars.
They gave us a wonderful room that slept 6 for our family (2 dbl beds and a pull out sectional). All rooms have a small refrigerator. Very modern and clean. You need a key card to get up to your floor so it is very safe. There is free breakfast in the morning with a good selection. They also have a small coffee, food and bar service downstairs. Ask about their town car service, it is cheaper than yellow cab to and from airport. We paid $35 for an SUV to take us back to the airport that they set up for us.
I can't say enough about this place...everyone is super friendly and went above and beyond what is expected and we are global travelers. Very family friendly if you are traveling with kids. I look forward to coming back and staying here again.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with a large family, call ahead and let them know.

Excellent in every way. Front desk folks are terrific. The first person we encountered is Brian and he is a great representative for this hotel, setting the tone for the remainder of the stay.

Indoor pool is terrific--warm and clean. In addition to the hotel's "included' complimentary breakfast, they have a small counter where you can buy salads, sandwiches, espresso drinks. Room is very large and comfortable: more a suite, than just a room. Location: Not particularly scenic area of Seattle, but it is safe, you can check out the local area which includes some pizza and gelato places, and right across the street from the Hyatt is a Walgreens, open until midnight, if you need snacks or souvenirs.
Hotel's shuttle is very efficient, cruns 24 hours, but do note it is first come-first served. Easy ride to Pike Place Market and other sites. When calling to request the shuttle, they give you an accurate ETA so you don't stand around waiting too long, but twice the driver was a few minutes earlier than the announced time, so be at the designated spot which they will indicate to you when leaving the shuttle.

The only negative was the hotel's recommendation for pizza, to be delivered to the room. It was awful, with a soggy crust. Cant recall which pizzeria it was, but it was the company the front desk calls.
