This hotel is clean, in a location that is close to the Space Needle and the park, and has a free breakfast. However, the rest of the package was very frustrating for us. When we arrived, we learned that they have a low parking garage, so our car with a Yakima storage box on the top wouldn't fit. We stayed at the hotel for five days and had to deal with street parking and parking lots -- so it was a constant worry that we needed to either move our car or plug the parking machine.
Each morning at breakfast, the buffet was out of spoons and forks -- they were forever being washed. It was very challenging with a the kids -- not just ours - but all of kids were waiting for spoons to eat their cereal and then when a few came out of the kitchen, there was a rush to get them. On day three, we bought plastic silverware so we didn't have to deal with the problem. To make this more annoying, the people working in the breakfast area seemed annoyed with the guests and were very unfriendly.
We also had two days of being unable to use our keys in our room. The hotel staff tried to fix the door and gave us new keys repeatedly -- but they also often told us to go up to the 7th floor and "try again." It was very frustrating -- we spent a lot of time in our hall waiting. It seems like they fixed the problem right before we checked out - the battery in our door lock was dying - which seems like it could have been fixed days earlier. The door led to many frustrating conversations with the front desk.
The housekeeping service was extremely poor. Two of the days that we were at the hotel, housekeeping never came. We had to call to get fresh towels. On the days that they did come, they left towels and made the beds, but they didn't refresh the glasses, empty the garbage, clean the sink or leave new shampoo. We had to call the front desk every day.
The one other challenging issue (which wouldn't have been such a big deal, if the rest of our experience had been more pleasant) was that the rooms have very little storage. They have three very small drawers, a very small closet, and no room for luggage storage. So, for a family of four with very little kids, everything was stacked everywhere making it challenging to be in our room.
I would not stay in this hotel again. There are so many choices in that area -- and there are so many choices downtown, which is just a quick monorail ride away from the park. I wanted to relax in our hotel, instead we were constantly annoyed, frustrated, dealing with the front desk, and moving our car.
Stay at another hotel.
