There is no closer hotel to MacCaw Hall than the Maxwell, which is why I've stayed there several times. You can see the space needle from a view room. On the lower floors you also get a view of the parking garage for McCaw Hall, which shows just how close you are.

I love this place when I am in Seattle for a weekend of opera. The staff are helpful, the bed comfortable, and they have a Keurig coffee maker in every room. The hotel is conveniently located to several restaurants, including McMenamin's.

This boutique hotel is has a spacious lobby with a small coffee bar. The only drawback is the closet space, which is why I don't stay here if I am in Seattle for an extended period of time. The closet is open air and tiny, so it has a limit as to how much clothing you can hang,

If McCaw Hall or Seattle Center is your destination, definitely check out the Maxwell Hotel.

The Maxwell Hotel has the most convenient location I’ve ever experienced. So many activities are in close proximity.The Maxwell Hotel is definitely the place to stay after that next big event at Key Arena or Seattle Center. There is so much to see and do in that area, especially this time of year with the Nutcracker at the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Teatro ZinZznni shows, events at the Key, Pacific Science Center, Chichuly Garden and Glass, Children’s Museum, Winterfest at the center, and of course the Space Needle, Monorail, EMP Museum, and the International Fountain.
We enjoyed the on-site restaurant, the fitness room and pool, the complimentary parking, complimentary Starbucks drip coffee and pineapple minicupcake, complimentary transportation within a 3-mile radius, and friendly staff.
The Maxwell Hotel is a great place for families, couples, or just you and the girls. You can even bring your pet!

After staying in many average hotels that consider themselves "top of the line", the Maxwell blows them all out if the water! Nice open lobby creates inviting atmosphere and it resonates throughout the hotel. The rooms have laminate wood flooring which is a welcome site after staying in hotels with skanky carpeting everywhere. Whomever decorated the rooms should be praised - modern and tasteful! The mattress, pillows, bedding... All top notch. The Keurig coffee maker with real glass mugs is a bonus! Free bottles of water along with microwave popcorn are provided daily. Views of the space needle are available on one side of the building and Pike's Place is about a mile walk to the south and REI is about a mile north. The only problem here was the very tiny parking facility under the hotel which obviously did not have enough spaces for each guest on a busy night. Also, the "compact" spaces are better suited for motorcycles or maybe a smart car. MAYBE. If you are not able to fit into the "free" area then parking across the street in a garage adds some bucks to your stay unless you luck out with a space on the street. A small walk-up cafe is a good place to grab some breakfast. Greek yogurt parfait with cherries is yummy! ($5-$6 bucks per item) There is also a restaurant with an entrance from the lobby... Didn't have a chance to eat there, but it seemed popular! Bring warm clothes and rainwear for this time of year in Seattle if you plan on walking. The Maxwell even provides every room with a very large umbrella! Nice touches all around!

Stayed here with my pre-teen kids and disabled husband. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived at 1 and they had a room ready. Even though I booked thru "getaroom.com" they had accommodated our special room request. Shuttle is quite popular.. so book ahead if you want to use it. The kids enjoyed the movie DVDs available at the front desk to borrow complementary and popcorn in the room. They thought the pool was a little small and utilitarian, but enjoyed it anyway. Room had a microwave, small fridge (clean!), keurig coffeemaker, fluffy clean towels and was clean. Good wifi access. There was a wait to get into the woodfire pizza restaurant, so they gave us a pager and we waited in the lobby where they served us a glass of wine by the fire. Parking was free but a problem that when we got back at 7pm there weren't any spaces (never mind disability spots) and there was someone without a disability pass in one of the disability spots. So be prepared to park across the street. They have a small coffee kiosk in the lobby, so for breakfast have a muffin from there (muffins were very good .. not gooey oversweet but like homebaked) or else you need to go out for breakfast.
