“Close to King Tut”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

The hotel was very close to the Space Needle and Science Centre which was great. Our room was very clean and spacious and the free car park was a real bonus. In the afternoon free coffee and cup cakes were served in the lobby, a nice treat. Although we didn't use them the gym and swimming pool are great amenities. Walking to Pike Place market took about 30 minutes but there is a mono rail from the Space Needle that takes you right into the downtown core if you'd rather. You can buy breakfast at the little cafe in the lobby but there are also plenty of places to eat by the hotel. We would certainly stay at the Maxwell again when we are next in Seattle.

Spanishperro,

We’re happy that you found our location close enough that you were able to “Walk Like an Egyptian” over to the King Tut exhibit. I’m sorry…I couldn’t resist. However, all kidding aside, we appreciate you taking a few moments to highlight some of the key benefits of our hotel in this review.

We hope to see you again soon!

Cheers,
Tyler

“very nice hotel near seattle center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

spent one night on the way to my son's soccer game. i had researched before for a large family pre-cruise vacation next summer. so when this came up, i didn't hesitate to book the Maxwell. check-in was a breeze, probably the fastest ever. we were told that we got upgraded to a junior suite which offers a bit more room for our family of 4. it also included a pullout bed in the couch, although we did not use. room was very clean and well appointed. loved the wood floor and colors of the furniture. very very comfortable bed and pillows - i'm very picky when it comes to these, so big thumbs up. nice tv, nice coffee maker. the pump style soap and shampoo were great, nice shower. was surprised that there was no shower door, and worried about water spills. but it was generally no problem. would be nice to have a fan so the mirror doesn't fog up so much. very nice towels, thick and fluffy, smelled good. we brought breakfast up from the pineapple restaurant in the lobby. simple and reasonably priced, and convenient. the best part about this hotel, besides free parking, is the location. minutes of walk to seattle center, where there is monorail to go further into downtown. or take the hotel free shuttle. i wish we had more time to explore the area. we saw bikes in the lobby, i think they are for guests to use - nice.

a couple things to mention: although it was nice to get upgraded, our room was on the 2nd floor facing roy street, with a view of the parking garage across the street. can still see the space needle, over the parking garage. windows do not seem to have very good sound insulation as we could hear traffic well into midnight. partially because of the wet street making the noise more obvious in the quiet night, partially because we are used to our very quiet neighborhood at home. there were occasional noises of high heels and dragging of chair from other rooms, and guys yelling (could be from the bar attached to the hotel). the free wi-fi sounded great, but never worked, possibly due to high traffic. it was not a problem for us as we didn't spend that much time in our room, but i did hear others call up the front desk to complain and ask for room change (which wouldn't solve the problem anyway).

all in all, a very nice hotel. still on the top of my list for next summer's vacation.

Mimijj,

What a wonderfully detailed review of our property. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. It will really help benefit other travelers coming to our hotel. We hope to lock up that top spot for your upcoming summer vacation/cruise!

Thank you for all the kind compliments. As for the noise and WiFi issues, I will address both of these with our maintenance team to see what could be done for improvement. Thank you for bringing them to our attention.

Thank you again for such a wonderful review!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

We stayed at the Maxwell to go to a concert at the Macaw Hall it was a great location an easy walk to the hall. The entire place from the parking garage to the room was amazing. Very nicely done but not fancy-smancy. The Rock was open late for dinner and was very good. Beds were amazing and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The in room shampoo, soap, lotion and conditioner were in easy to use wall dispensers (no hard to use little bottles or packages, I loved that. We can't wait to stay again.

Susyblue2,

Thank you for the review of The Maxwell Hotel you provided on December 1st. We’re very happy that you enjoyed your stay.

Thank you for commenting on our new amenity dispensers we’ve placed in each room. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly by eliminating unnecessary plastic waste, we went with these dispensers. We’re happy to read that you loved them!

Yours in hospitality,
Tyler

“Great value for Boutique hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Great location, great comfort, great staff, cool style. Best value for location! Some discounts available if going to Teatro Zinzanni, which is across the street and a splurge well worth it. shuttles to areas around town, too, although so much is close by we didn't need it. Check it out!

“Awesome boutique hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

This was our first stay at this wonderful boutique hotel...loved the retro/art deco vibe! We stayed in one of their Aria rooms on the 5th floor which had a view of the Space Needle. Location can't be beat...quick walk across to Seattle Center, the Space Needle, and Key Arena, as well as a short commute to Pike Place Market.
Staff are super friendly and helpful! We had reserved a room online and arrived in the early afternoon so decided to pop in to check out the hotel, and were pleasantly surprised to be offered a room right away. The front desk clerk also gave us a map of Seattle, as well as directions on how to get to Key Arena.
Amenities are fantastic...free Wi-Fi, secure parking, nice pool and exercise room, complimentary bikes, as well as coffee & cupcakes in the late afternoon. Rooms also have a large umbrella available, a real plus in Seattle!!
The room itself was delightful...loved the hardwood floors, and are extremely clean and well kept. Our king-size bed was amazing...super clean and comfortable, one of the best I've ever slept in!
Can't think of anything that could be improved upon with the possible exception of advising customers upon check-in of which food items in rooms are free and which are not, certainly not a deal breaker!
We will definitely return to Maxwell Hotel on our next trip to Seattle. Great value for your money!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor are quiet with a great view.

Awesome review! Thank you so very much for taking the time to write this. We are delighted to read how well you enjoyed yourselves while staying at The Maxwell Hotel.

We are glad that you were able to make use of so many of the amenities we offer as well as really get a chance to explore Seattle while you were staying with us.

To know that you would be willing to come back and stay the next time you are in Seattle puts a smile on all of our faces. Fortunately for us, Kamloops is just far enough away that it only makes sense to stay a night when coming to visit Seattle! See you soon. ; )
