“This hotel was designed for us, Loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

This hotel was truly designed for us, it really was fun and trendy.
Our room was quiet, super comfy and beautiful. Loved also all those little things like coffee maker, micro, popcorn etc in our room.

Wifi worked really well.

Location point of view it's so and so. It right next to Space Needle and Monoreil but walking to direct downtown are might get bit long after few days, but there are good restaurants and groceries near by.

Big plus for free parking!

I visit Seattle at least twice a year and, since its construction two years ago, I always stay at the Maxwell Hotel. I used to stay in five star hotels downtown but I find the Maxwell equally comfortable and luxurious at a much more reasonable price. The Maxwell is lacking a restaurant and pool but it makes up for it with comfortable rooms and a friendly staff. It is a reasonable walk to the Pacific Place downtown and is just blocks from the Space Center complex and the monorail. Even though it is lacking a restaurant there are several good bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a view of the Space Needle.

Hotel Maxwell was very nice. Nice people at reception. The location is great - just across the street from Seattle Center and at the foot of Queen Anne. Walking up into the hills takes you into lovely neighborhoods with great views. We had a view of the Space Needle from our window (over the parking garage across the street). The hotel was very clean and even had wood floors in the room instead of carpet. I worried it might be noisy but it wasn't the night we stayed. Parking was free but somewhat limited. It was bit expensive but I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: Might get a view of the Space Needle with a front facing room.

My husband and I really liked this hotel. It had a modern, funky kind of vibe! They even put out pineapple cupcakes each afternoon in the lobby! The rooms were really nice and spacious and had a cool view of the Space Needle. We liked the location, but we like to walk places and don't mind taking public transportation (buses and the monorail are both close by). If you want to be in the "middle of the action" this would not be the place for you. Overall, everyone was friendly and accommodating and we had a great time!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor facing south so you can see the Space Needle!

The Maxwell Hotel is a very nice hotel located in the Queen Anne area of Seattle. The people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. My room was facing the Space Needle which was awesome. The hotel is clean, quiet, very close to the Seattle Center and near by restaurants. I felt very safe and at home here. It's a great place to stay and I will come back again.

We reserved King or 2 Queens, and by default get the 2 beds. Hotel is a 5 min walk from the needle, where you can take the light-rail to downtown. Though we had a car, which the hotel happily provided parking for, downtown walking is a good break as driving in Seatle for the first time is disorienting.
In the evening, the hotel called taxis for us, as parking can be difficult in popular nightspots. They even nicely provided wine glasses for our newly bought Washington State wines, no problem.

It's certainly true that this hotel looks fabulous, but unfortunately its service doesn't really match up, although I would still recommend it as a good hotel in Seattle.

The hotel makes a big play of the 'pineapple hospitality' but in the four days that we stayed there only one member of staff was polite, or even looked up when we walked into reception! I'm pretty sure his name was Justin and without him our stay would have been pretty rubbish - he had great suggestions for places to visit and eat and was really enthusiastic. (Any hotel owners reading this should head hunt him quick smart!) This was especially handy as the hotel is not really close to the action.

The rooms are lovely, but there is very little water pressure in the shower, which made for a rather limp start to the day. The free water, coffee and popcorn are smashing though! The free wifi is ok but not that speedy.

There are a few bars and restaurants nearby, and a large supermarket. I would totally recommend the Vietnamese restaurant a couple of doors down Roy Street (yellow sign) - best pho I've ever had!
