I love this restaurant. The pasta with butter and sage is amazing. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back

“Superb mean, highly recommended for parties of 4 or less.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Overall, we would recommend Spinasse highly, especially for groups of 4 or fewer. The food quality was very high, and the service was professional and well timed. Our server clearly knows the menu extremely well and was able to provide full descriptions along with some personal insights and opinions. Her delivery felt a little rehearsed, but that's fine--she took very good care of us.

The Tajarin pasta with butter and sage that commands great fame here was, in fact, the least exciting dish on the table. It was undoubtedly fresh and the flavors were light and pleasing, but it was cooked beyond al dente and wound up overly soft. The remaining dishes though, from the Italian spin on steak tartare, through the kohlrabi and watermelon radish salad, to the pork belly main course with a side of roasted broccoli, were all completely unexpected and superb. The desserts were also innovative and delicious.

They have a full bar--sort of. They have a wide selection of aperitifs and a limited, but good quality, selection of spirits. We had a Manhattan and a Vesper martini to begin and they were both very good. The wine list is exclusively Italian, has a good selection, and is a little on the expensive side, but then one doesn't dine at Spinasse to save money.

We were a party of 6 and in this intimate space at a straight table it's just impossible to have a conversation amongst a group that size. But for a party of 4 or less, this place is wonderful and we will definitely return. Had we been seated in a quiet corner at a round table for 6, this would have handily earned 5 stars. Unfortunately, such seating doesn't exist here.

“Romantic and Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Beautiful, delicate and delicious pasta served in a warm, romantic setting. The staff is professional and warm... perfect for a romantic dinner or one with friends. All the food is good, but the standout hero at Spinasse is the pasta. It's made by hand, and the kitchen knows just how to sauce it. Solid wine list, yummy food. Come early and enjoy an appertivo / cocktail at Artusi (Spinasse's sister space); you can eat there as well. Great place.

“Romantic dinner with such fine food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

This is the best meal I had in Seattle.

The service was polite and very helpful. All her recommendations were great. Dimly-lit, romantic atmosphere makes this place great for dinner dates.

For pasta, you can either choose the smaller or full portion. We chose the smaller one so that we could try 2 types. Definitely go for the Tajarin. I loved its buttery, smooth taste. We also had the Tagliatelle, but it wasn't as mind-blowing as the Tajarin.

The pork belly was to die for. It melts in your mouth and is roasted to perfection. Finally, we had the huckleberry crostata for dessert. It was a delicious tart coupled with sorbet.

Be sure to make a reservation!

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

I went here with my girlfriend and it was amazing. We sat at the bar and got to watch the cooks to their thing and also got to watch the pasta being made by hand. The service was great and the food was better. We'll be back soon!
