EMP is a pretty cool experience. Lots of interactive stuff, and lots of interesting music history to learn about. Staff are awesome too; very friendly and enthusiastic.

“DO NOT MISS THIS ONE.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

If you are a fan of rock music (not pop, but real rock) and pop culture, this museum is a must-see. I spent 3 hours in here going through the fantastic Nirvana exhibit, narrated on audio by Krist Novoselic and including craziness like the In Utero angels from lie performances and high school artwork by Kurt Cobain. Wow. From there I went to the Sci Fi exhibit and saw Captain Kirk's chair, Uhura's dress, and the guns fired in Men in Black. I also heard fantastic behind-the-scenes stories from multiple directors and stars. In the horror film exhibit I saw Guillermo Del Toro's sketch book, Jack's axe and the head of The Terminator-- again, with background stories. And I haven't even talked about the Stones exhibit. Throughout the museum there are interactive displays, sound and viewing areas, and bits and pieces of culture. This museum teaches classes too-- now my kids wish we lived in Seattle. Pleas, don't miss this one.

“Homage to Seattle Music”

Mostly Nirvana. Hendrix exhibit to open later this month. Nice display of leather jackets. Most impressive display was tower sculpture of musical instruments.
