“Beautiful grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

The grounds and museums surrounding Seattle Center truly make it a city center worth visiting. With the Space Needle, Chihuly, Ballet, and other attraction nearby, it is a great place to walk or run off some energy.

“Seattle icons.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We went with out of towners to the Chihuley Glass Garden. This is a great exhibit! Then wandered over to the old Food Court, now known as the Armory. Remodeled, and much nicer than it was. Though not at this visit, in the past I have gone to EMP (great!), the Science Center (fun!), And of course, the Space Needle. I have also attended functions at the Key Arena, McCaw Hall, Memorial Stadium, and Seattle Repertory Theater. Lots to offer!

“lots of pricey things to do but still a bit dismal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

As tourist places go, this isn't bad, but despite its recent remodel, the center house is still pretty dismal and lacks a sense of friendly community. (It would help if they didn't literally lock the power outlets and if the wireless were not so limited.) Bathrooms still leave a lot to be desired. Still, there is the EMP and the wonderful glass museum--if you don't mind paying a lot to go. Getting there & out is also a bit of a mess--parking is generally ridiculous unless you come in the middle of the day (not on a weekend) and the streets surrounding area are pretty sad looking and not kept up nicely.

“Getting a facelift and getting better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

I've been going here my whole life and it's so nice to see the Seattle Center getting a facelift -- mainly the Center House and the addition of the Chihuly Glass Garden. You can actually get decent food at the Center House now and they are allowing light in be adding huge windows (at last!). Bumbershoot and the Folklife Fest are held here and the Seattle Center can handle lots of people. Plus, the Space Needle, EMP, Science Center, Key Arena, and lots more, are here!

“Seattle Center to waterfront and downtown loop on the cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

If you're in decent shape and looking to see Seattle sites on the cheap, here's a great loop walk:
You can start either at Seattle Center or downtown. If you're downtown, take the monorail to Seattle Center and watch kids playing in the fountain. From the Key Arena, walk down Harrison Street to 3rd Ave West and take the skybridge over the railroad tracks to the waterfront park.
Take a right on the path to the fishing pier and snack stand and small beaches or take a left toward the city to skip this. You'll turn back toward the city after the fishing pier. Walk along the waterfront toward the city. There are several restaurants along the way that have outdoor walk up outdoor dining with great seafood for much less than their food served via waiters. Then take the stairs or elevator up the hill to Pike Place Market. You can walk from Pike Place Market to the monorail at Westlake Center where the monorail starts/ends on the 3rd floor. One way cost is $2.25 to/from Seattle Center.
