I have been a life-long resident of Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood. I've been to the Space Needle Observation Deck (spectacular view) and the Smith Tower Observation Deck (another good view) but, for the first time ever, I just recently visited the Columbia Center Observation Deck. It is host of a great view. Although not a 360 degree veiw, like the Space Needle and the Smith Tower, the Columbia Center is still home to a veiw of a good portion of Seattle and its surroundings. On a clear day, it is said that you can see all the way to Tacoma. So very true. You can see everything excpet for a bit to the north, where your view becomes non-existant unless you can call looking at the side of a building a 360 view. It is located not at the top of the tower, but pretty high up there. I think like the 60 something floor, maybe the 70 something? I can't remember for sure. The building itself is 76 floors. Anyway, looking at the veiw from the observation deack isn't the only thing to do here. There is also shopping at ground level, in the base of the building. Great place. Go there!
