“Beautiful aquarium, indoor/outdoor exhibits, good food, excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2011

Great aquarium, and huge! This aquarium is several buildings, with indoor, and outdoor exhibits. One of the coolest aspects of the aquarium was that one exhibit allowed visitors to see outside, under water, right next to the aquarium.
This aquarium features local sea life, only in hawaii, and exotic exhibits.
There are shows, and informative talks given by aquarium staff. There is a scuba diver who dives down into one of the exhibits in the lobby of the aquarium.
There is a good cafe/eatery upstairs with fair prices comparible to other aquariums, and museums. There are vegetarian options as well.
I realy enjoyed this aquarium, it was neat, and clean looking with several interactive activities for kids, or people of all ages, and many picture opportunities.
I wish I'd done the review right after my visit so some of the experience was fresher.
tons of tropical fish, fur seal, sea horse, blue lobster, shrimp, local sea life, coral, birds
GREAT aquarium overall, noticed a few fish with bacteria infections but i guess that's inevitable in a large aquarium, otherwise things seemed healthy.

“Great place to take your kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2010

Seattle aquarium was a nice place to get away from the crazy energy of the city. My girls enjoyed walking through seeing all the beautiful colorful fish. They really enjoyed being able to touch the starfish and other sea creatures.

A beautiful aquarium with excellent exhibits--I was very impressed with the displays and the gift shop had lots of cute stuff besides t-shirts and key chains--very impressive!

“A smaller but great aquarium!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2010

Yes the Seattle Aquarium is not huge or has a ton of exhibits...but it is a great aquarium. We went there on a Saturday and there were many interactive exhibits where employees were interacting with the visitors at different sections of the aquarium. I think the price maybe a little overpriced when paid in full, but if you go to the Seattle Tourism official website and have them send you a visitor packet there is a coupon in one of the books they send you for a buy one get one free pass...so two adults is only $17. As someone mentioned other Aquariums that are better, I have been to the Newport, Oregon Aquarium and I think the Seattle Aquarium is equal too, not based on size but with the staff interaction at the Seattle Aquarium makes up for the smaller size of the aquarium.

“Average Aquarium, good for kids”

I went to take pictures, and got some decent shots. I noticed there were a lot of kids and lots of interactive things to keep them engaged.
