We spent a lovely 4 nights here, our second time visiting. Thanks for the comfortable accommodations and your stupendous hospitality. This is the perfect launching spot- and yes, the breakfasts were devine! May God bless you and your family as you continue to provide for those of us who come to visit. We will be back.
Thanks again,

From the web-site, it looked to be the perfect B&B. What a disappointment. This place has so much potential, but needs a good overhauling. This Victorian house could really be so charming, but sadly it is not. Although there was an attempt to have an inviting and cozy atmosphere with the fireplace blazing in the living room and a cat sleeping in front of it, it just didn't make the grade. The place was cluttered with shabby old furniture and "stuff." The sleeping rooms were okay, although bedding was not crisp -- seemed old and worn. My husband and I had booked the "Green Room" and my sister and brother-in-law had booked the "Blue Room" for the three nights. Upon returning from our outting on our first day, the proprieters had disappeared (we wondered if they even lived there, where did everyone go, where do they sleep?). We had a bottle of wine and went into the kitchen to look for some wine glasses. What a shock!! Once we saw the kitchen, we lost our appetites for breakfast there and checked out early. There were old English Muffins still in the toaster, butter left out on the counter (we couldn't help but think, were we going to be served that in morning?) . Greasy floors, appliances, and counters. Black bananas in the sink, and even a bug in the wine glass in the cabinet! How can anyone cook a gourmet breakfast in that gross kitchen and serve it to the public? The back yard was full of junk also!! We couldn't get out of there fast enough -- no breakfast for us. On a good note, though, my sister did say she had a really good shower and slept pretty well. Sorry, but if you're looking for a good Bed & Breakfast in Seattle, you may want to pass on this one.

This is by far the loveliest Bed and Breakfast we have stayed at, friendly and relaxed. The room was clean, the bed devine...haven't slept better at any B&B, we've stayed around the country and Europe. What a convenient location to downtown and beautiful Park across the street.
You made us feel so comfortable and your breakfasts were superb; so delicious, well prepared and beatifully served. Yum! the cookies... .amazing!
Your warm & helpful spirit and hospitality are such a blessing, making our anniversary weekend very special. We will definitely be back to stay.
Thank you again!

in april we stayed for two nights in the most expensive room on the top level at mildred’s b&b (the rose room). our stay was not at all what we expected.

cons:

1.there was a very steep and narrow staircase to our room (lugging the suitcases up and down was a [--]!)
2.the furniture was dusty; the sheets were of poor quality, the pillows were old and flat, the bathroom glasses were etched and one had a crack.
3.the room was over-filled with furniture, and almost every drawer was filled with “stuff.” It felt like a storage room. the one dresser that was empty contained an unused (but with an expired date) condom (charming touch). spare towels were kept underneath the bathroom sink, along with the cleaning supplies.
4.we had a room with views … a portion of lake washington and, looking downward, a backyard from the set of sanford & son (tires, old bikes, junk).
5.breakfast was disappointing … the silver was tarnished, my coffee cup was cracked, we had peaches which were still half-frozen. the eggs benedict … mediocre.
6.when we returned at day’s end, we found our bed unmade, coffee cups and pot still dirty, the bathroom the same as when we left. when we complained, we were told that we had locked our room and so it couldn’t be cleaned… duh! isn’t that what you do when leaving your room for the day? to their credit, they cleaned the room while we were at dinner, did a better job than when we first arrived, and even left us two hershey’s miniature chocolates.

pros:

1.on-street parking was always available
2.mildred’s is across the road from the beautiful volunteer park and its conservatory.
3.we enjoyed conversation with the other guests at breakfast.

we decided to leave early and didn’t have our second breakfast, choosing to eat out instead. mildred’s website makes it sound like a luxurious bed & breakfast. it’s not!

We loved the location. The breakfast's were great and very nicely presented. Unfortunately the house and the guest rooms are shabby, tired and cluttered. The furniture throughout needs a good polishing. The toiletries were run of the mill drug store brand.

We stayed for two nights at Mildred's B&B (17 and 18 May) and so enjoyed our stay that I wanted to let others know that it is an excellent choice.

The location is perfect - it's in a quiet suburban area right opposite Volunteer Park (where if you climb the Water Tower you get great views of Seattle, and at no cost). There's a bus right outside that will take you into town and it runs frequently so no problems there.

There are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby which means you can have a good meal and then walk just 10 minutes back to the B&B.

Breakfast is a gourmet experience and Melodee is an excellent chef!

We found our room very comfortable and clean, and there's a fridge on the landing which you can use to store food etc. Everything is thought of at Mildred's.

Most of all you will receive a real welcome from Mildred and Melodee and lots of valuable information on transport and what to see.
