“Very clean and beautiful view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

I am very particular about having a clean room and this was perfect! The continental breakfast is delicious with scrambled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, toast, waffles, sausage, muffins and more. We had a view of the lake and it was definitely worth the minimal cost in upgrade. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is only a 5-10 minute drive from downtown. You can even walk it if you have the time because there was plenty to see along the way. They do offer complimentary shuttle to downtown and back, though remember to schedule just in case the van fills up. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get the room facing the lake. It is a little noisier because the street is just below, but it's...

This hotel was awesome and we were sad we hadn't booked it for the earlier part of our trip when we stayed in Seattle. Room was great, breakfast was great, free parking was great. Loved everything about it including the free shuttle to and from downtown.

Across the street from Lake Union and within walking distance of the South Lake Union (SLU) shopping and dining area. The room was typical of major business chains, but the free (and fast) wi-fi and free exercise rooms were a definite perk not given at major chains. In particular, the exercise room had new equipment in good repair and a full rack of dumbbells which was far above the quality of other complimentary exercise facilities I've seen. The views of Lake Union from the upper floors are great. Their breakfast room was a light-filled sunroom with scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles and all manner of muffins. Good coffee too - Tully's.

Room Tip: Go for the upper floors. The best ones are "view" rooms.

Stayed there one night. The hotel is well-used one. Everything is kinda clean....but you can see that it's very well used..... scratchy....greyish linen....a bit smelly....and the staff is not so friendly. I guess, they are having no problem with tenants, so they do not bother too much to take care about the guests....their attitude is like this "you don't like it....well that's your problem", something like this.
Our toilet was clogged.... They did unclogged it promptly, but never said sorry or something like that. The good feature is the only one - shuttle bus to downtown Seattle. That's it. Tooo overpriced. My advice to you - do not stay in Downtown unless absolutely necessary! Stay on the outskirts, you will find cheaper and cleaner hotels, for sure!

Free parking and a place to pull in temporarily while checking in were great features. Very friendly front desk and nice big lobby with computers and printers to use (great for boarding passes), plus juicy apples. Wi-fi in room worked just fine. Free laundry machines. Surprise free afternoon reception on Tuesday. Large breakfast variety (eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, make-your-own waffles, juices, fruits). Pool and hot tub were great, with lots of fresh towels. The air is very hot in the pool room, though -- better to be in the pool than just sitting and watching kids. Free shuttle to several tourist spots, and just call to have them come pick you up. Room was very clean and spacious. We would definitely stay again!

This hotel was just as described on their website. We stayed 3 nights in a Lake view room.

Best things: Shuttle service to Downtown, free parking, hot breakfast included, friendly knowledgable staff.

Location is near to the trolley if you want to take it into toewn as well.

Watch seaplanes take off out of your window.

All in all a great stay. Would def stay again.

This was my first time to Seattle and I was looking for a hotel that was convenient for attractions, in addition to being close to the July 4th fireworks at Lake Union. Oh, and of course, I wanted something comfortable. Silver Cloud Lake Union was a perfect fit. The hotel, although not new, was spotless and attractive. The staff was pleasantly helpful. Complementary breakfast, served in a lovely lounge area, had delicious options. My husband and I were able to see the fireworks (mostly unobstructed view) from our fourth floor room. (A higher floor would have been even better.) The hotel had a free shuttle service to the Space Center, Pike's Market, and Pioneer Square (three popular tourist spots). It was a pleasure to eat dinner at any of several restaurants located on the lake about three blocks walk from the hotel.
