“Hotel review”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful on arrival. The room was large enough and had just been renovated. Bed was comfortable and the shower very good. Breakfast was adequately tasty and filling. Location was excellent for the space needle (10 min walk) and for the centre (15/20 easy walk). The only down side was the price which is over the top for what it is.

Thank you for sharing your comments, and I appreciate the kind words! During the busy summer season, hotel rates in our area are at a premium. We try to keep our rates appropriate for our market without overpricing ourselves, and we do this by making sure our rates are as good or better than our competitors. We also offer discount options for great savings or packages for great value! Keep an eye on our deals!

Warm Regards,

My wife and I recently visited Seattle from the east coast and were looking for a good location so we could park the car and walk. The Holiday Inn Express on Aurora Ave was just right. About 8 min walk to Space needle and museums. Took monorail from there to downtown and walked another time to waterfront(about a mile). The room was a junior suite which was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a direct view of the space needle. Staff was very friendly.Breakfast bar was good with the usual offerings. Get there before 7;30 to beat the crowd.
I would highly recommend this hotel for value and location.

Room Tip: Top floor with view of space needle was really nice at night.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express both before and after our cruise out of Seattle. Staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was good, with a lot of variety. Rooms were clean, but far from 5-star. Close to the Space Needle and the monorail, so you can easily get downtown. Shuttle from airport dropped us off at the hotel. And the hotel has a service to take you right to the pier and back, so no need to rent a car. Pool is small, but clean. Kids enjoyed it! Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Space Needle! Higher the floor the better, it is located on a busy road.

Location is only 5 minute drive to downtown Seattle so it's worth choosing over paying a higher price for something nearer. It's clean and breakfast is good.. The staff is just a bit dull .. I didn't get a morning paper so I asked to why and didn't much get an answer or paper. Other than that if your not going to be all day in the hotel it's a good place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experience at our hotel! Our IHG Rewards Club members receive newspapers at their doors every morning as one of their perks. We provide some papers on the lobby only on Saturdays, and everyone gets a paper on Sundays. If you are an IHG Rewards Club member, then I sincerely apologize for our neglect! We should have asked you upon check in, so I will ensure that our front desk staff remembers this going forward. I appreciate your feedback, and I will share it with the staff.

While this was only a Holiday Inn Express it had all the features which are expected of such hotels and everything worked rather well. The hotel is well located near the Space Needle and it’s a fairly easy walk downtown or you can catch the monorail which is located nearby. The rooms are a good size and have all the features expected of a hotel such as a fridge and microwave. All in all it represented good value for money and it was a pleasant stay. Would recommend to others.

Stayed as part of a baseball week getaway to Seattle to see the Pirates play the Mariners. Chose the hotel based upon the location near the Space Needle as we wanted to take in some the Seattle sights as well. The location was good for providing access to downtown as well as the other tourist attractions found within Seattle. The room, double queen beds on second floor, was clean though very basic. Would have preferred a better view - as we faced the alley and the back side of the adjacent hotel. Carpeting was older and the dresser has seen better days. But otherwise, beds were comfortable. The comp breakfast was good and the cinnamon buns were quite tasty..

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the alley.

Thank you for staying with us! All of our standard two queen rooms are on the "alley" side of the hotel, but we do offer studio suites and full suites with great views of the Space Needle. While many of our standard guest rooms have been updated with fridges and microwaves, not all of them have yet. Our upgraded room types all do, however, so that is certainly another perk to booking those accommodations. All of our furniture and most of our carpet is being replaced, as well, so we will be looking pretty sharp by the end of the year. I hope you will come back, see the changes, and let us know what you think!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Our family of 6 stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to leaving on a cruise. We had a two room suite. It was a good size and easily accommodated us all. It was a modern room and was well appointed - comfortable beds, 2 flat screens, 2 bathrooms and still room for sitting areas in both rooms - no complaints at all here.

Noise - others have commented on this and all I can say is that we did not here any despite being right next to a major road. Not sure whether the windows were double glazed but the noise was not a problem. Also had a great view of the space needle.

Breakfast - also many comments on the quality of the breakfast and again.did not have any major complaints. Yes the selection is limited and the dining room is a bit small but we always found something to eat and got a table - the breakfast comes with the tariff give them a break. We have been on the road in the US for a couple of weeks and this is the first place that has even offered breakfast so we were happy.

Location - not too bad but yes a bit of a a walk downtown there is bus (the 358 from memory) that gets you downtown and to Pike Market etc but these places are easily walkable.

This hotel is great and our family enjoyed our time there and is Seattle.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms get a great view of the space needle.
