“Seattle is great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

the hotel staff could not have been nicer. this was my first trip to Seattle and the weather cooperated beautifully. The hotel was close to restaurants and a market and there was no problem getting a cab.

This is a contiuation from my prior week story when we stayed at the Marriot courtyard in Lynnwood. The subsequent week we stayed at the Homewood suites on Western (Elliot), North of down down and due West from the Space needle. What a pleasant difference from our prior weeks stay. The main difference was having two 32 inch TVs with HD that worked. Some may not see this as a big deal, but we find it important during football season (my wife more so than I).

The other amenities included an extensive free morning breakfast, news paper and dinner and drinks if you stay Monday through Thursday. The Marriot added on the cost of the breakfast and the quality of service and food available do not compare to Homewood suites.

Air conditioning was built in, not something hanging out or by the window and was much quieter than Mariott's.

Would definately stay here again, and would even consider purchasing a unit if it was available as part ownership (timeshare/part time simple title ownership).

Room Tip: Higher floor gives you a view of the Sound.

We stayed here the last weekend in September when we started our vacation to the Pacific Northwest by spending a couple of nights in Seattle. We had a standard Homewood Suites king suite with a separate living area and full size fridge, microwave, and stove with two burners. One thing I found helpful was that the vent in the bathroom is in the shower which prevents the mirror from fogging up while in the shower. The location seems to attract a big weekend crowd. Breakfast on Sunday was very crowded (almost couldn't turn around in the serving area). Monday was not as crowded. Breakfast was good on Saturday (scrambled eggs with ham and cheese mixed in); however, breakfast on Monday was not as good and featured a pre-fabbed cheese omelet that was kind of spongy. In addition to the hot entree, cold cereal, fresh oatmeal, and breads were available both days. The fitness center was pretty good. All of the staff members that we encountered were friendly and helpful.

I've actually waited several weeks to write this review because I was initially so unhappy I wasn't sure I could be fair.
We checked in the Thursday of Labor Day weekend. The staff was friendly. Our room, next to the elevator, was HOT, 82 F. The windows do not open. We notified the desk and they sent maintenance to "fix" the a/c. Friday we were out and about in lovely Seattle all day. Upon return our room was over 80 again. The desk was contacted, we left for dinner, room was better. Saturday, another great day in Seattle, and we joked when headed to the hotel, wonder what the temp in the room is? I "won." 80.
Out of patience, I visited the desk in person asking to be moved to another room. Guess what? Hotel is full; no other rooms available. Maintenance comes and announces: you need another room because this unit is broken (why did it take 3 days to figure that out?). Again, no more rooms. Magically, they came up with a replacement a/c unit.
To be fair, they comped us one night. The room itself was okay - although in the LR area we could hear the elevator going up and down, dinging, etc. Bedroom was quiet, though.
Location was at the edge of Belltown, long walk everywhere, but garage parking in basement was good.
Staff was polite, apologetic.
Won't be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators. If the hvac isn't working properly when you get to the r...

We used our Hilton Honors points and this was a fantastic location. It is on Pike Street and is a half mile downtown to Pike Place Market. They offer a full breakfast AND dinner here and it is a close walk to downtown attractions and local coffee shops (Victrola Coffee was fantastic). Marakesh Express is less than a mile away and has some of the best sauces and Pacific-Korean food around!

We stayed here for one night before heading out on an Alaskan Cruise. The location was convenient to what we wanted ... Space Needle, Pike's Market and the Cruise Terminal. We did not rent a car and were glad that we didn't as the hotel charges for parking as well as most of the places that we wanted to see. Rooms were nice (beds comfy) and seem to vary as ours was somewhat small, but more than adequate. Our flight got into Seattle quite early but the hotel let us drop off our luggage with the bell hop and they stored it until we could check in to our room later that day. Would definitely stay here again!

We stay at this hotel when in Seattle-It's walking distance to the Seattle Center & along the way there are some good restaurants. The hotel itself is very clean & there is a free breakfast with hot food everyday. There is also a nice walking path by the water, and there is also a decent workout facility. If I were to have a downside, there is no pool for the kids. If you want a nice place with easy access to downtown & the Seattle Center, this is it.
