Description: Spur Gastropub An intimate urban pub in Belltown. Plates to share. Cocktails to entice. Chefs Brian McCracken and Dana Tough opened Spur in Seattle’s Belltown in 2008 and already it’s been recognized by Food & Wine magazine as one of the country’s top restaurants. Acknowledged for turning out some of the best dishes and cocktails in town by local media, the Chefs were selected as "Rising Star Chefs" nationally by the industry insider magazine StarChefs. In addition to earning the attention of Wine & Spirits magazine, their cocktails have made Spur one of Seattle’s top 10 bars. The Chefs’ collaboration dates back to their time in the kitchen at Maria Hines’ Earth and Ocean restaurant, together on Hines’ traveling team at the 2005 James Beard Dinner in New York, and today creating their menus at Spur.

“Ate at Spur twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

We had gone to Spur for happy hour one day and were so glad that we had booked full dinner reservations for a few days later. The salmon crostini is an earthly delight. Wines by the glass are very nice and well thought out. Dinner offered the most wonderfully-prepared halibut of our entire trip. They have raised the bar high with their offerings and attentive service. My only wish is that we had gone there a third time!

“These Guys Can Really Cook”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

I had heard that Seattle was a foodie's delight; but, after three nights of excellent though prosaic dining, I was beginning to think the praises were no mores than small city puffery.
Then, Enter the Gastropub. Inspired plates paraded one after another: beet salad, big eye tuna, sweetbreads on a bed of pureed peas (blew my mind), sous vide chicken, venison tartare.
Though the surroundings are bare bone, being an actual pub, and the service a little vague ( though thoroughly pleasant), the food is as original and well done as anywhere I've ever eaten.
The place is, on a world stage, the real deal.

“Mixed thoughts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

There were some amazing dishes. The salmon crostini is delicious and fresh. And the duck pate is excellent. The pork belly sliders had a grapefruit compote on top that was too bitter. And the sweetbreads were overly salty. My friends liked the burgers.

“FLY to Seattle to eat at Spur”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Utterly amazing, innovative food, wrapped in attentive service and an interesting wine & beer list, Spur could so easily be one of those pretentious 'we're better than you' fake high-end restaurants, but it's not. It feels like a little hole in the wall staffed by people who care, as opposed to staff who are working you for a fat tip. Brilliant. Dessert and the cheese course a little less so, but utterly amazing otherwise.

“Love the meat dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

The meat dishes were all very good - we had the pork sliders, roasted chicken and the beef. The sauces/garnishes brought out the flavor of the meat without being overpowering. For us the other dishes which stood out were the tomato topped crostini and the chicken liver pate.

Interesting selection of cocktails and craft beers. Service was responsive.
