First, forget that the Best Western name is on this hotel. Very little about this hotel is Best Western other than the labels, signs, and the reservation system. Think instead chic downtown hotel with a big comfy 2-story lobby that has a fireplace, fancy furniture, attached coffee shop and lounge, all at reasonable prices.
The only things about the room that struck me at all like Best Western were the bathroom products and the towels. The bedding fit into the "chic downtown hotel" category, and the bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, at all times of day and night.
My fiancee and I paid a little extra for an upper-story room: these rooms have a view, more space, and a mini-fridge and microwave (both clean and relatively new).
There are dozens of eateries, a number of bookstores, a gas station, drugstores, and a Safeway all within a 2-5 block walk in the University District. Downtown is a 7-10 minute car ride away (where you could pay $300-$500 a night for a similar quality hotel).
The promotional material doesn't mention anything about internet access, but there was a high-speed jack in our room (bring your own ethernet cable), a modem jack on the phone, and although not officially part of the hotel, the Univ District is full of wireless access, much of it free. For 3.99 a day you can have access through the Tully's coffee shop that is in the hotel building, or if you go outside, you can get it for free through a project designed to bring wireless to the U District. Furthermore, every coffee shop and many other places also have wireless access.
The only quibble I had was the water pressure in our room was kind of low (12th out of 16 floors).
We definitely will stay here again on a future visit to Seattle. Highly recommended.
