“A wonderful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

We stayed at the Alexis for our 20th anniversary. What a wonderful staff they have. The location is excellent. We walked everywhere and didn't need our car. The room was very comfortable and decorated very hip. I would not hesitate to recommend the Alexis. We will definitely return! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is for the bathroom. Very functional and nice but not luxurious.

I'm so happy to hear that you had a wonderful experience! Thank you for taking the time to fill out this review. The feedback is always good to hear. Maybe next time we have you in Seattle, you can check out one of our Spa Suites. They have wonderful jacuzzi tubs!

My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at the Alexis and they just reconfirmed my love of the Kimpton experience. Tracy at the front desk was STELLAR. Funny, kind and totally spoiled me for my birthday. We got an upgrade to the spa suite, and she left a lovely bottle of champagne for my birthday. Our final morning, we grabbed breakfast at the hotel before heading off to the airport and they brought over birthday beignets! Basically I felt like the most special human in the world.

Okay, so that's the service gushing... as usual, the room and ben were so wonderful. Loved coming back to it. Our jacuzzi bathtub was awesome, so relaxing after traipsing around the city all day. We also grabbed a drink at the hotel bar, which was totally delightful. The service was great and my G&T was perfect. $1 oysters were yummy!

All in all, it was a simply perfect experience. I always feel I get what I pay for at Kimpton. This was definitely no exception.

We stayed at the Alexis at the end of August for one night, before departing on a cruise. The staff gets solid 10s for service, friendliness, and local area knowledge. I found it particularly telling that the General Manager would be at the happy hour on a Friday evening. It just reinforced, along with our other observations, how focused the entire staff was in providing excellent service. We had reserved a king suite - corner room - very comfortable with about 200-250 degrees of view - from the ferris wheel to the area down toward the founders' park area of the city. We ate breakfast in the hotel the following morning. Again, excellent service and reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant.

Seattle reminded us of San Diego and San Francisco - lots of hills. We elected a cab ride to the Space Needle - about $10 with tip. The hotel is situated where it is an uphill climb to Pike Street Market [hint there is an expansive Target across the street and a half block up from the Market - in case you have forgotten anything]. There is also a steep downhill walk to the ferris wheel, aquarium, a number of restaurants, etc. Finally, there is a relatively flat walk to the founders' park area and on to the baseball park. A walk you could easily cover in 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic lights. The founders' park area appeared to us to be an area where the transient population gathers [an organized food truck distributing breakfast was there when we walked through the area on a Saturday morning.

Would we stay there again. Yes!

I love hanging out at the wine hour! Free wine, snacks from the chef, live music on Friday's and I get to meet some of the fun people staying with us - what's not to love? Hopefully we will see you back at wine hour again soon!

This hotel has it all. Great location, friendly staff, great rooms & nice bar with outside patio seating. Morning coffee & evening wine reception. We stayed in a fireplace suite, highly recommended. Did not eat there but heard from other guests the food was good.

We just spent another 5 wonderful nights at The Alexis. We spent our honeymoon at The Alexis and decided to return to spend our anniversary in Seattle - August is the perfect month to be in Seattle!!

We had a wonderful suite with views of the ferris wheel and the bay beyond. The entire staff was friendly and gracious. We had some great breakfasts in the Library Bistro and a nice dinner in the Library Bar too. The wine hour is very nice, just one of the little touches that Kimpton always has for its guests.

Housekeeping was great, the bed was comfy, and even with a wedding on Saturday night, the hotel was really peaceful.

There are bikes that you can ride and the location is great. We had a terrific stay and look forward to returning to further explore the natural beauty of Seattle.

We stayed at the Alexis after cruising to Alaska, we decided that we wanted to spend some time in Seattle before returning home. This hotel couldn't be more accommodating. The staff at the front desk are delightful, anything we needed was put at our disposal immediately.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It isn't cheap, but well worth the extra money. Our room was beautifully appointed and comfortable.
This hotel is close to museums, Pike Place Market, The Aquarium and terrific little bistros. All within walking distance.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 4th floor, very quiet, excellent sleep conditions.

My sister and I stayed at the Alexis hotel for the weekend after finishing our Alaska cruise. It was a perfect location to explore Seattle - was walking distance to Pike Market and also to the monorail to get to the Seattle space needle. The staff was fantastic and our room was beautiful. We did not travel with our pets but really appreciated how pet friendly the hotel is - they even had a small sign in the lobby with the names of pets in the hotel that night - there was even a goldfish listed. The concierge was very helpful and even treated us to an appetizer at our dinner (Crush - a spectacular meal by the way). I had not stayed in a Kimpton hotel but I would in the future based on my stay at the Alexis.

Room Tip: We had a corner room with windows on both sides, was quiet and bright.
