“Staff can enter your room”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Hotel management is very bad .I was scared that the frontdesk staff entered my room without any advance notice and the manager doesn't apologize to me saying that they are correct. The manager and the staff are very rude when probem occured. The female manager said they are private owned hotel so she doesn't have any boss. This means they can do whatever they want. They are not care about the customer .

When we are unable to contact a guest with issues regarding payment it is our policy to lock out the room so that we have a chance to speak with you. The procedure is to call up to the room and if we receive no answer, knock and then proceed with locking out the room. These situations are embarrassing for everyone involved, guests and staff alike, but they do happen occasionally and that is why we have set procedures in place. Thank you for staying with us, and we sincerely hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Seattle.

My wife and I stayed at the Belltown July 23-26. Great location is accurate. Walk one way you are at the space needle. Another way the shopping district. Down the hill and your at the ocean. Pike's Market extremely close. The next street over is lined with cool restaurants. Something for everyone. The room was small but clean and updated. Parking is brutal. Basically parked in the lot accross the street for about 17 bucks for 10 hours during the day. Then another 13 bucks overnight. I would have been fine if I could have just parked it and paid for the three days but that was not an option, which was a real pain. The Belltown are is extremely diverse, as I found all over Seattle. Lots of homeless people mixing with business people and tourists everywhere.

One of the best budget hotels I've stayed in lately. Booked this hotel from Hotels.com and was a little bit concerned as it was a bit cheap for the central location and I was hoping it wasn't too dingy or in too bad a neighbourhood as I'd heard varying reports about Belltown.

In fact, the location was excellent (walking distance to Pike Place Market in one direction and to the Space Needle in the other, one block away from great restaurants (including gastropub 360) and just a couple of blocks from the ferry terminal. There were some questionable characters about on less travelled streets near the hotel, but if you stay on the main drag - 1st and 2nd, for example - there are lots trendy bars and restaurants and lots of people and we felt perfectly safe.

The staff was very friendly and able to recommend restaurants and give directions. Our room wasn't huge but it was bigger than I expected considering the price and was equipped with mini fridge and microwave - and also a small flat-screen TV, an iron and ironing board, and a good hairdryer. Water pressure was good and room came with shampoo, soap, and conditioner. We were also very happy to discover complimentary Cokes, a bottle of water, and microwave popcorn - what more could a couple of sweaty travellers want? There wasn't air conditioning but with a ceiling fan as well as floor fan, we didn't need it. There is free wifi in the lobby (a $5 charge to have it in your room) and there was also a well-equipped business center with fast computers and free printing. There's a nice roof-top area - not much a view but nice at night if you pick up a beer at a corner store on the way home. The hotel also lends guests bikes and umbrellas - free! It was so nice to not be nickel-and-dimed over the little things. You can really tell that the owners of this hotel take pride in it and take their jobs as hosts to Seattle's tourists seriously.

The only possible downfall to our room was that it faced the centre courtyard - which means that our view was of a brick wall and there was some noise in the middle of the night as a couple of rowdy guests were having a loud conversation - but we never heard any noise from the hall at all.

We booked this hotel last minute for a 2 night stay and were so thrilled with it for the price. The room was large, with a great bathroom and mini kitchen too. Such a perfect spot if you are in Seattle with no car, downtown is a short walk away as are the markets and the wharf. The staff were great and very helpful with suggestions on where to eat (Petra on 4th Ave was the best meal we had during our 3 week west coast trip). There was no a/c, it might have got to hot in the room if it was hot outside but we had great weather so it didnt bother us. The hotel has a guest laundry too, so great if you are on the road and need to wash some clothes. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

In the center of the music district. Only problem with summer time is the street noise. We were 3rd floor and I could here the patter of the footsteps of a jogger secondary to no AC and leaving window open. There was a ceiling fan in room. The little things were cool. A couple of free sodas in fridge in room. Free micro popcorn and microwave in room. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. Let us have late checkout till 1300 and checked us in early. Get to-go food and have a picnic on rooftop terrace.

It was a great location, everything fairly close and lots of goings on nearby. Friendly staff that was always very willing to assist in any way they could, had lots of advice and insight on nearby things and points of interest. The down sides where, they have limited surchaged parking (I found a garage nearby the I keep our car in all weekend and it was under 30 bucks) and no A/C in the rooms. However they have fans and it's seattle so it cools off at night pretty fast. It did seem at little over priced to me but it was worth being able to walk anywhere we wanted to.

Pros:
1. Easy access to convenient stores
2. Tourist attractions are all within walking distance and Pike's Market is one of them.
3. Staff was friendly. We checked in late (after dinner) and there was an allocation issue with the room as we booked a room with 2 Queen size beds and we got a room with just a Queen size bed. The staff changed the room immediately without delay.
4. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The heater is warm enough for colder days. We experience rain and was even drenched in them and the heater in the bathroom definitely kept us warm enough.
5. Slept well with the windows open (rooms only have fan and no AC) and 12 Celcious at night (53 F).
6. There's microwave in the room so you can heat up food if you wish to.

Cons:
1. We sleep with our windows open as this is a no AC hotel, so we can hear cars passing by and in the morning, more sound from trucks and people talking outside. We were on the 5th floor. My advise is to pack a pair of earplugs and it would do justice.
2. Parking is an issue if you have a car. You'll be lucky if you find a spot near to the hotel. Else you'll have to find the parking bay down the street and take a 5 minutes walk back to the hotel.
3. Free internet is only available at the lobby unless you pay for WiFi.
