“Good drinks and decent bar food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

I like their selection of beers, especially the darker beers. Their mac n' cheese and stews are good. Their hamburgers are just OK, but you can get a cheeseburger for like $2-3 during happy hour. Good place to unwind and a very nice atmosphere, especially on a colder day.

Also a good place to meet and discuss business, with a client or business partner, in their booths as they tend to leave you alone if you so desire and they do not pressure you to keep ordering.

“A friendly, neighbourhood pub with great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We were staying at the Maxwell just a few doors down, and decided to take a chance on this place. Glad we did. A really friendly welcome, a great choice of pub food and beer/wine, a great vibe - this is obviously a 'local', not just for tourists. There was a great mix of background music playing - not so loud you had to shout, but audible.
The service was fantastic - our server happily made recommendations and answered our questions. She was incredibly friendly and knew everything about the menu.
Not one, but TWO veggie burgers on the menu! (one was vegan - added bonus). Delicious. My partner had the fish and chips which was also great.
If you are staying at the Maxwell and wanting a casual meal, I definitely recommend you choose McMenamins rather than 'The Rock'. It's got more character.

“Favorite place to eat near Seattle Exhibition Hall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Have eaten here more than a dozen times and am always satisfied. Great fries, good cheeseburgers, and I liked their tater tots (although my husband doesn't... but he is a fry guy). They make their own beer which is good. Each McMenamins is decorated differently... and this one is one of the best in my opinion.

“Fun, stylish and artsy place with good burgers and great beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

this is a very popular craft brewer, burger and sandwich place and rightly so! The beers are superb, and we tried a few, the food is delicious in the atmosphere is fun. The service was just fine, food arrived fast and hot with a smile. be sure to check out the clever and elaborate art work on the ceiling and the overhead duct work.
