“Interesting Decor and a Great Location at a Good Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Funky decor and each floor has a theme with awesome original art. There is even a floor with turntables and vinyl in each room. Happy hour each night featuring a Craft Beer. The hotel staff is all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant attached is quite good with a good selection. (Not affiliated with the hotel) The only weird thing is that they add a "deposit" hold on your card for each night you stay. I personally find that offensive. Not like it is in a vulnerable part of town. It is indeed refunded at the end but your credit has been held hostage for that time. There is no reason for this! Still ... This is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Check out the website. Lower floors, closer to the street, are likely more noisy.

Rooms are small but décor, location and perks like the craft beer happy hour make it worth the lack of space. I always get the best sleep here too because I can drown out the street noise with the wall AC units fan.

Hotel Max is a very nice hotel for a medium price range. Beds are very comfortable and clean and the locatuin puts you near everything downtown Seattle has to offer. The valet is very professional and quite personable. All the staff look like they are out of a GQ ad. I felt like I had underdressed for my stay there. None the less. I think this hotel gives you a four star quality for three star prices.

Quite pleased with all but the last few minutes. The desk clerk didn't think we could leave the car in their garage for 3 hours beyond check-out. Had asked at check-in and it was OK.Can't expect a freebe, but it would have been a nice courtesy to not charge $18 for 2 hours + a 3rd hour.

Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Max, the staff were courteous and cooperative, they helped us get rooms although we'd arrived ahead of the check-in time (Which is 4 o clock!). The bathrooms are a bit small, but very clean and well appointed. The hotel serves draft beer in the lobby every evening, which I thought was a nice touch. The location is great, it's very close to pike place market, and other touristy stuff like the space needle.

I tend to visit Seattle last minute, especially if driving over from Spokane. But even if planned ahead I usually don't book a hotel until the last minute and often I land at Hotel Max.

The beds and linens are great, the rooms are clean albeit some can feel a tad too small.

The rooms on the Sub Pop floor have record players and vinyl which is such a great touch and are always my favorite to stay in.

Often the hotel will have complementary things like Craft Beer pints some evenings and other fun little added bonuses.

The location can't be beat being walking distance to the Space Needle, South Lake Union, downtown shopping and restaurants, Belltown, Pioneer Square and the famed Pike Place Market.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 5th floor aka the Sub Pop floor. All rooms come with record players and vinyl...

Except for the size of the room, quite small, all was fine. Good staff, clean room, very comfortable bed. Our ninth floor room was quiet. Better shades would have helped block out the city night lights. We would stay again for one night.
