“Hiccup at first, MORE than remedied by a great staff !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

I had two nights reserved at Hotel Max, one pre- cruise and one post cruise. Unfortunately, the ADA room I specifically requested had been given to someone else, no idea why, and this created somewhat of an ... inconvenience for the paraplegic friend with whom I was traveling. She's been in a chair for 30 years, so she's dealt with this before. I, however, vented to Twitter and was pleasantly surprised to receive a personal response from the hotel's General Manager, who was genuinely apologetic, took every possible step to ensure that our post-cruise stay met our expectations, and basically bent over backwards to BOTH remedy any dissatisfaction that we previously felt AND made sure that our 2nd stay was absolutely perfect and trouble-free. The hotel is in an older, renovated building and may appeal more to the hip crowd rather than the over-40 folks seeking a wheelchair accessible room, but if you ARE that crowd, if you are clear in your needs, they WILL accommodate you. Room 1014 is ADA compliant with a roll in shower and is directly across from the elevator. It is the room we had hope for the first night, and is the room that the GM made sure we were in on night #2. Thanks to Kevin (GM) and Andrew (front desk) for their care & concern. The hotel has a great location and a super friendly staff who are eager to help & make your stay as comfortable & pleasant as possible.

My room is claustrophobic small with an awful view of the back of another building. Unbelievably bottles of water on the counter had a $4.00 price tag on them...how cheap! I am on the last leg of a two week trip during which we stayed in wonderful, generous establishments whose staff were incredibly accommodating. This is by far the worst. Staff barely speak to you.

The location is good. It is clean and sheets are crisp cotton. And perhaps other rooms are more spacious....this omen is minuscule.

The best little hotel with a perfect location in downtown Seattle! I was a bit concerned over the reviews of it being a boutique hotel with small rooms and bath, however, we found it comfortable and without any incidence of being cramped. I did request a quiet room setting at time of reservation and the manager was fantastic in making sure we had an excellent location of room. The staff members were the best team a hotel manager could have...informative, friendly, helpful, courteous and reliable. The elevators were small yet had a unique security feature...the elevator would not move until your room card was placed in the slot and scanned proving that you belonged in the hotel!!! We did not need to rent a car for the 7 days we stayed there as it was located close to the Space Needle, Pike's Market, downtown shopping stores, fabulous restaurants, trolley, subway and monorail. Complimentary beer in the lobby every evening from 5:30 to 6:30 made my husband a very happy traveler. Perfect hotel in a perfect setting and secure neighborhood. Thanks to those at Hotel Max and we hope to enjoy another visit with you again.

We traveled the weekend of Sept 14 as a couple.
We booked through expedia and were given a standard room with a view of another building.
Upon check in the clerk was friendly, efficient and gave some recommendations on where to grab a late night bite.
The rooms are very nice, comfortable bed, good AC, it's a boutique hotel so a little on the small side but we didnt really notice, everything was fine.
The best thing is that its sooo central to all the action! lots of restaurants and bars and shopping around. The hotel offers free craft beers daily in the lobby which is pretty nice.
The connecting restaurant looked really good but we only had beers at the bar and the bartenders were REALLY nice!
I recommend the hotel hands down, we had a great time and I would stay again

Pros: within walking distance of Pike Place and close to monorail for Space Needle. We parked our car and did not use it again until we left. Desk staff was very helpful and courteous. Our room was on the 10th floor and noise was not a problem as I had read in some other reviews. I called before we arrived and asked for a quieter room. Enjoyed complimentary Cider Beer in lobby one afternoon (daily but we were only there at the right time the day we checked in )
Cons: Room is quite compact..queen bed.. No refrig, pay $10/day for WiFi. Shower is very small (think closet or travel trailer size). But having the separate sink/toilet was kind of nice (also closet size) . Parking fee was about $40/night. (they quote $33.00 but add taxes). Would not recommend this hotel for larger people (tall or wide :) Window unit a/c had it's own personality (noise)

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise from traffic

We truly appreciate you acknowledging our amazing location, craft beer hour and our wonderful team who try so hard to make sure all of our guests have a truly Seattle experience.
I'm sorry to read that you didn't think we had refrigerators in the rooms. Please know that we have small mini fridges in each of our guest rooms. Also, if you are driving don't forget to check out our Cars Stay Free package that is able to be booked through our website. A great package that will save you some money.

I'll start with the good: Hotel Max is in a good location only a few blocks to Pike Place and the main shopping area. The hotel is very cool and stylish, and the staff were all friendly and professional.

The bad: The room is easily the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in, and I have been to Paris on a student budget! Literally the shower was in a closet. An actual closet. The toilet and sink were in a seperate room, also the size of the closet. So small was the bathroom that my husband could not sit on the toilet and have the bathroom door closed, as his knees hit the door! So, so tiny. The rest of the room was also similarly tiny, two people could not both get dressed at the same time.

The elevator was really slow and unreliable, we found you had to allow 5-10 minutes for the elevator - and the fire stairs only take you to level 1 so there was no other option but to wait for the world's slowest elevator.

I was glad we were only there for a very short stay, to stay longer would have been unbearable!

Room Tip: Ask for the biggest possible room, and query whether your bathroom is indeed a closet.

Hello there Fussy123!
Thank you so much for staying with us on your recent trip to Seattle and for taking the time to share your experience with TripAdvisor. We are so pleased to hear your comments about our location, design, our team and the friendly and professional service provided.
As I've stated many times before our hotel has small rooms. Furthermore, we have some rooms which include a split shower and bathroom. We are fully aware of this and have even named the room category Mini. Again, this is why we put so much emphasis on providing a comfortable sleeping experience, unique amenities, an unbeatable location and honest, personalized service. I'm sorry that this didn't resonate with you.
Again, thank you for staying with us and for sharing your story.
All the best,
Kevin Scott

I was in Seattle for a conference and stayed here because the conference hotel was full. It was a very nice place and less expensive. All the major sites are within walking distance. Also the train from the airport to the Westlake station is 2.75 compared to a 40 dollar taxi ride.
The only draw back ( not for me) but those of you who did not like small bathrooms then do not stay here.
