“Great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Very nice property, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful view from my room on the 10th floor, clean, updated, comfortable beds. I stayed several days for business, the catering was wonderful as well. Complaints: the shower, very high to step in (and i'm tall) and the shower head was very low pressure. Other complaint didn't effect me but the lobby had a lot of stairs and was set up strange, would not be good for handicapped guests or those who have issue with stairs.

The location was wonderful, in the heart of it all! I will return for pleasure!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 10th floor and above.

Stayed on the 21st floor but not facing the water. Tip: ask for Northwest view

It's also better to ask for a spectacular room than a cool corner room for an upgrade. Cool corner rooms are bigger but on lower floors and spectacular rooms are the same as traditional rooms but on higher floors.

The rooms are not as large as other hotels I've stayed in but they're cozy and have a modern design that beats the stodgy traditional feel of most rooms.

The room service food wasn't that great but you shouldn't be eating here anyway considering its only 2 blocks to Pike Place.

Service was fantastic. Asked for toothbrush and razor and it came within 5 min in special W packaging. Check in and check out was a breeze. Would highly recommend the hotel.

The W Seattle has a strange "lobby". Depending on where you enter the property you either walk around the corner to the small-ish check in counter or walk up a flight of stairs to it. The level on 4th Ave contains the restaurant (happy hour is packed there at night) and numerous couches and chairs adjacent to it to the left. If you enter with bags you'll have to carry them up the stairs to check in.

When I arrived there was a crowd of people checking in and out so the wait was fairly long, especially since there were only 2 people at the front desk. The decor is modern, as it is with nearly all of the W hotels that I have visited. Dark is the prevailing theme here. Your room key operates the elevators and you are deposited into a dark hall. Entering the room you'll notice that is is ....dark as well. There aren't enough lights to make it a bright space IMO. I know dark colors, muted lighting, etc. appear to be the popular theme but it is tiring after a bit. The room is a bit above average in size, a nice characteristic of this hotel. My room had a bay view, in between office buildings, and had heavy wooden blinds for privacy. Flat screen TV, in-room refrigerator, mini-bar (pressure sensitive billing so don't play around with them or if you have kids, make sure you lock it up or risk getting billed heavily for the snacks!) comfortable king bed and a small desk made up the room. The spacious bathroom was in marble, and on contrast to the room itself was very bright. Bliss Spa products are offered, a nice touch. The room was clean, spacious, and well kept. The only downside was a few spots on the carpet and they charge for internet access (!!), a nasty add-on IMO, not business-friendly and rather nickel-and-dime in nature, but other than these two issues I was happy.

Breakfast at the restaurant was nice if not on the steep side, service was excellent. A Starbucks is directly across the street if you want a less-expensive alternative, and note that the lobby has complimentary Starbucks coffee as well.

The hotel is situated about 15 minutes away from the Marketplace, a downhill walk, and is not far from the shopping centers either. Mind the fact that you will pass a lot of homeless people on the street to/from these areas. I was surprised at the large homeless population that Seattle has.

Overall, you will like the hotel as long as you know what sort of vibe/feel that W Hotels offer, that is modern, dark, aesthetically "cool".

The room was very nice, clean and well furnished. The service was pleasant and prompt. The only thing that marred the visit was the shower, which produced only a fine mist spray. No amount of adjusting could produce any decent volume. I suppose in a "green" city the low flow shower might be required, but I hate the things.
Room: A+ except for shower
Service: Impeccable

I had the pleasure of five days at the W in Seattle courtesy of a business trip and i found it to be excellent. Working from the hotel room can be a chore but not when it is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The hotel staff are super friendly without being smarmy and are very willing to help. Room service, while expensive, is excellent and the well equipped mini bar and goody station is a massive temptation -- but be warned, it is super pricey! The beds as always in the W are wonderfully comfortable and make for great sleep. My only minor gripe is that the shower could do with more pressure but in a stylish and large bathroom, that's me getting picky. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: As always, go high

Read some not so flattering reviews of W Seattle. Not sure why. Usually stay at the Grand Hyatt when in Seattle, but had a great stay here this past weekend.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Bar Scene was very happening both nights we were there. Food was pretty good in both the bar and restaurant.

Front Desk Staff was very attentive and pleasant during a busy check-in process. Ordered Room service and it came quickly. Had a bunch of gear from a shoot and the bellman arrived shortly after calling and hauled it all down to my car service out front of the hotel.

Nice touch of changing the floor mats in the elevator throughout the day, Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening. Love those little nuances. Will be back in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for 809 or 820. Corner rooms with plenty of space.

The W Seattle is very smart and clean, and the room I was given was very comfortable. There seems to be a reputation about the beds at the W being good, and it's true, they are a joy to sleep in.

I didn't eat in the restaurant as it was too expensive for me, but the free coffee in the lobby every morning was welcomed, it made up for the fact that there was no coffee maker in the guest room, which disappointed me at first. But I was happy to make a trip down to the lobby in the morning - which was also where you could get free wifi. Staff at the desk were very helpful. I would be happy to stay here again.
