The VP is probably the best Kimpton if you are in Seattle to do business in the financial district or at the courthouse (which is right next door). Excellent access to the freeway, and superb off street valet parking. For those complaining about the price of said parking, welcome to the World. The rooms are smaller than average for Seattle and the bathrooms in particular are tiny. Decor is a tad dated but I understand a renovation is in the works. Superb Kimpton service and Tulio is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. We had a couple of issues which were addressed by the GM herself. A well managed proper with very professional staff.

Love Kimpton - the service is great, and they look after the little things. For us, that meant, since we're Kimpton In Touch members (their loyalty program -apply immediately!), we got upgraded rooms, late check-out, Mini-bar credit, welcome back cookies, and our newspaper of choice (New York Times!) delivered to our room. It is such a friendly place; and the nightly wine tasting (at no cost) sponsored by Washington state wineries is a great way to meet others. Rooms are classic and classy, with everything you need, and there's a great restaurant, Tulio's, right next door, with authentic and delicious Italian food.
And for those who care about environmental issues, they offer half-price valet parking for hybrid vehicles, and if you pass on maid service, there's a coupon of $5 to Tulio's or for room service for every day you skip.

Never stayed in a hotel were everything was just perfect. Booked this room thru priceline and got an amazing deal! Room was spacious ( king bed) and bathroom too. I felt so comfortable here and enjoyed my stay. Very detail-oriented hotel... From umbrellas to organic snacks- they thought of everything. And daily free wine tastings too.... how can you not love this place... very close to the Pike Market and major attractions. Love it!

Sometimes first impressions are accurate. A NYC size room (about 12 x 15) with a tiny closet (had to request more hangars) and no dresser. Expensive parking. No room to put our two suitcases on suitcase stands (there's only one stand anyway). No iPod dock. Dim fluorescent bedside lights. Window open upon arrival (in the 40s outside) and heat doesn't seem to be working properly. Oh yeah - free wine at 5 pm, a flat screen TV and nice bathrobes. I think we got what a friend calls the "Ha Ha Room" - let's give them this room and see if they complain.

Last week we were in a luxury hotel in Portugal at lower cost, so the comparison is stark. This doesn't feel like a fine hotel...at least not to us...at least not on this visit.
