We stayed at this Sheraton for 3 days at the end of hour brief tour of the NW and British Columbia. I reserved our room through the Priceline. At $75 per night, the price was unbeatable.
The hotel is located 6 long city blocks from the Market, most of it uphill. We love walking. Others would likely have to take a cab to the Warf, the Market, and the cruise terminal. This general area of the downtown was very busy, but felt safe both day and night. The convention center is located right next door. Many good restaurants and excellent shops are with in walking distance.
Our room was spacious and similar to other Sheraton hotels. Bedding was comfortable. Bathroom had all the usual amenities. Everything was very clean.
This hotel is huge with multiple towers. Because of that, the staff seems overwhelmed; the service is very impersonal. Late afternoon, long line forms at the check-in counter, cruise ship passengers, airline crews, and tour groups. The concierge desk fairs no better. We waited in line for half an hour. The concierge had only the most basic information and helped us little with local museums and transportation connections.
If you are heading to the airport, use the convenient shuttle that stops at the hotel.
Overall, if you want cheap, safe, modern, spacious, moderately convenient place in downtown Seattle consider this Sheraton. However, if you want charm, personal service, and helpful staff go somewhere else. This is not a place for romance.
