“Overall, a pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Stayed here on business. Easy walking distance from the convention center. I arrived early, and the room I was slated for was still occupied and scheduled for late departure. The woman at the desk was able to switch me to a corner king room, which was lovely. Very neat and clean. Living room area and cool sliding glass doors on the closets and bathroom. As mentioned by others, the biggest drawback was the noise from the highway. It was very loud, even though I was no the 18th floor.

Very nice variety for breakfast in the restaurant, but dinner was fairly limited. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask a room away from the highway!

This is a nice hotel. It's clean, newly remodeled, very nice staff, but also very loud. It's practically right on top of I-5 & if you get a room that faces it, the road noise is unbelievable. We were on the 24th floor originally that faced the freeway & it was so loud. Not only that, but, there was a connecting door to the room right next to ours & the noise from that room came right through it. We could completely hear the conversation going on in it like they were in our room. We then got a room on the 27th floor (no connecting door in that room) which still kind of faced I-5 & it was still super loud! It's a shame because the staff were so nice & the hotel is also quite nice, but I would never stay there again because of the road noise.

Room Tip: Get a room that completely faces AWAY from I-5!

Thank you for staying with us and your feedback. We do appreciate your nice comments about our staff. We are very proud of the service we provide. I am sorry you were not happy with the location of the rooms and the street noise. While it does impact some guests others do not mind as much. We are working on a solution of the problem and hope to have sound proofing improved in not to long distance.

This is a hotel in the process of upgrading from a three star property to a four star. The Lobby has been remodeled, restaurants, top floor bar and the room I stayed in had been upgraded. Some floors the hallways have been upgraded and others are yet to come. My room on the 9th floor was what one would expect of a Renaissance property, king bed, comfortable chair etc. While not the largest room I have ever stayed in, it was fine. My room service was very good. The staff throughout the hotel are well trained and friendly. The location is very good. Recommended particularity if the rate is a good one.

Room Tip: Facing away from I-5 and upper floor

Thank you very much for staying with us and your review.
We do appreciate your nice comments about our staff and the view from the top floor bar.
USA Today rated it one of the best hotel bars with a view in the country.
Our room service has been rated one of the best in the brand for two consecutive years.
As you mentioned we are renovating our guest room corridors and should be done by the end of April, all in an effort to provide a better experience for our guests.

Again, thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again real soon.

Stay at a lot of Marriott brands and I was impressed with this hotel. Staff was extremely nice and the location was great. Short walk to all of the attractions. Loved the gym (great view). Would have no problem recommending this hotel and would gladly return myself. Didn't try the food?

We overnighted at the Renaissance Seattle to meet up with friends who were staying there on business. The hotel itself is very much a high quality hotel catering to business travellers. There is a comfortable cafe/bar on the lobby floor as well as a casual restaurant on the first floor. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but rooms overlooking the interstate highway are quite noisy. Even from our room on the 10th floor, the traffic noise was noticeable. Overnight parking is expensive, but on par with other hotels in the area. Unlike many other hotels in this price range, there is no free WI-FI in the rooms or in the lobby area. The hotel is located just off the interstate so it is several blocks away from the waterfront restaurants and Pike's Market area. It is also several blocks away from the main shopping area. Although this hotel is quite good, I think there are other hotels of a similar caliber and price that are better located for sightseeing and shopping.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the interstate highway, as the traffic noise is quite loud even in rooms on...

Dear Brigit C,
Thank you for staying with us and for your review.
While we are just a few steps further away from the main shopping area, our location, as viewed by others, is closer to the stadiums and Pioneer square, our location indeed is just halfway between Pioneer square and the market.
I am not sure why you believe that the Internet is not free in the public space in the hotel, we do not only offer free internet service we also provide a computer and internet access free of charge in the lobby area.
Again thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again.

We stayed here in January 2013 for the first time and were pleased with the ease of finding the place, the check-in service, the price we paid reserving about a day ahead, and the location. Parking attendants were helpful when our car didn't fit into the regular garage and they also helped us with directions to a local restaurant when we were walking at night. They were very hospitable and genuinely answered all of our questions without acting as if they were looking for a tip.

We also enjoyed the bar and restaurant. They have a nice menu for breakfast with lots of options ranging from smoked salmon benedict to several omelettes as well as a nice buffet if you are into that sort of thing. They can bring you an espresso drink of your choice if that is your preference besides the regular brewed coffee. We had a great time and will definitely stay here again. Actually, I'm kind of surprised we didn't know about it before since we've been to Seattle several times on similar weekend jaunts. It was quiet and comfortable, located in a good area for walking at night.

Dear Tuscany,

Thank you for staying with us and your review. We appreciate your comments about the staff and the great food in our restaurant. I agree with you, our Eggs Benedict are some of the best. On your next visit try the Crab Benedict, it does have a little kick to it which makes it extra special in my mind.

Thank you and hope to see you soon again.

My husband and I stayed here for our three day honeymoon in Seattle. We paid for the rooms on hotwire and got them for $90 a night with $30 tax.

When we arrived they opened the doors and greeted us with amazing hospitality. It slipped during our check-in that it was our honeymoon. Within 15 min of arriving they brought us a congratulations note signed by all the staff and a fruit platter up. It was a very sweet touch!

The room was huge, fancy and spotless! The TV remote was kinf of annoying and there was no movies for rent, but that was not a huge deal.

The location was especially amazing! 20 minutes walking (about a mille) from the space needle, about 20 minutes (a mile) from pioneer square and like about 10 minutes walking from pike place. We were always out and about, it was perfect! And no matter what time we were in or out, the staff was always ready to greet us with the most friendly demeanor!

We didn't bring a car, but I know you do have to pay for parking. However with the buses and being within walking to everything I would never need a car whiile staying at this hotel! One day we went to the zoo. We caught a bus two blocks down and were there twenty minutes later. The bus came every ten minutes.

The room was quite loud next to the highway, but we still were able to have a pleasant stay. But, definitely request a room on the other side of the highway for a quieter stay

Another negative was the incident hold was $50/night and we didn't know until check-in. So make sure you have that available.

Overall it was so fun! We loved our room and the staff and didn't want to leave!!! We plan to come back for a trip again soon!
