“Pleasant, modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I actually didn't have high hopes since I had a perhaps inaccurate and outdated view of what a Marriott property is like. However this hotel far exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable bed, quiet, clean, contemporary. Good buffet breakfast which was included in the price. We were on th 26th floor so there was sometimes a bit of a wait for the elevator, but that was minor.

I think the title of the review says it all. This hotel exceeded my standards. The rooms are nice, well appointed and comfortable. The staff went beyond the pale to make sure I had what I needed. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is not on the freeway side as others at my conference complained about the noise...

Was here recently for a conference. The customer service was outstanding. Each employee greeted me in a very friendly manner. Bed was comfy. Coffee pot in the room. A short walk to shopping and the Pike Street Market. The hotel is on a hill, going downhill is good, but coming back up the hill - watch out! I would stay again at this hotel.

We stayed for one night as part of the King Tut package which was a great deal. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and the bedding was very soft. Renovated recently I'm sure and done so well.
The hotel bar is great and a wonderful people watching spot. The concierge and front desk staff were helpful and friendly and our requested turn-down service was completed.
It is a busy hotel so you can wait a long time for elevators and it is not located right in the heart of the other hotels and close to the highway. Still it was very quiet - we were on the 7th floor and didn't hear any outside noise.
No pool - as an FYI.

Thank you very much for staying with us and for your nice comments about our hotel.
As you mentioned we did renovate our hotel just a few years ago and continuously improve our rooms and public spaces.
We are glad you enjoyed the King TUT package. as this is the last time this exhibition can be seen in the US. It ends its run in Seattle on Jan 6,2013.

Again thank you and I hope you will be back real soon.

The Renaissance Seattle Marriott Hotel is located blocks from the Convention Center and is a luxury convention hotel. Leisure travelers should be aware of that as there may be long lines and trouble with parking due to the convention influx. The hotel has a great location in terms of access to the freeway, Pike Place Market and downtown attractions, but the traveler pays a price for that: WiFi is not free in the room, there is no pool and parking is $20-$30 per day, because parking is at a premium in this downtown location.
That said, if you are prepared for the bustle of downtown Seattle, the Bell Staff will get you a taxi and you can be on your way.
When you return, help open up the R View Bar on the top floor with dazzling views of the Bay and the City, and enjoy some custom cocktails and sliders, or even a full meal. Children are allowed in this dining room, which is great for families, but if you are planning to pop the question here, be sure to ask your wait person for a quiet table where you can be romantic.

Room Tip: You can ask for a room away from the Freeway, but it may not be possible to get one if the hotel is...

Thank you very much for staying with us and your great review.
We can't agree with you more on how you feel about R view.
The view is indeed one of the best in the city and in walking distance of most of the attractions in town.

I hope you will be able to return real soon.

This Hotel is very nice, the staff is really helpfully and friendly, what you should get from a Renaissance property. The location isn't the best if you want to walk downtown Seattle.
The hotel is located on a major highway and the walk to the waterfront is pretty much straight down as in hills.
But again its nice and close to the international district if you interested in great Dim Sum.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the opposite side of the freeway or you will hear traffic all night.

Thank you very much for your patronage and your nice comments.

As you mentioned we are not right in the shopping district but only about 5 blocks away.
However we are closer to Pioneer Square and the stadiums than most other downtown hotels and the view from our rooftop bar is the best of any hotel in the city.
We do appreciate your comments about our staff and our service. We pride ourselves in our service and appreciate when this is being recognized by our guests.

Thank you and I hope you will be back.

We used hotwire.com and paid half the price it was goin for on other sites. It was a busy night for the hotel. The lot was full so we circled the building twice till we could stop. The valet service was excellent, they said they would park us for free because of the inconvenience! We got the front desk and it was the fastest I've ever checked in! Our room was nice and clean we had everything we needed there. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. The concierge helped us with directions and gave us a map and the valet man flagged down a cab for us. The only problem I had was that some one was knocking on our door at 5am and then the cleaning service knocked on our door at 9am, which this time I answered and found out it was for the wrong room.

Room Tip: When using hotwire, refer to tripadvisors rating to narrow down which hotel it might be!
