“Very Good for the price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

If you're looking for a five star, luxury hotel, this is not the place to go. This is a heritage building and as such, is going to have its quirks. However, we knew exactly what the hotel was like... it was our second time staying.
Yes, it's rustic and quaint. The water pipes can creak a little, the style is quite old (remember: heritage building). The tv isn't a flat screen lcd type. None of this really mattered to us. We stayed because the last time we'd been there, the staff was helpful and friendly, we were able to cook our own meals, and it was central to the places we wanted to go. It was the same this time, but the staff were actually extra helpful when a booking error (from a hotel booking website) had come up. They solved the problem and made sure we got the type of room we wanted. They were very friendly, personable and were able to answer any questions we had.
I've seen some negative reviews on this site and I have to say this: if you're looking for an ultra modern hotel, maybe a four or five star, don't come to the inn and then complain because it didn't meet your expectation. If you're looking for a nice, simple place that's near a lot of popular locations, want to deal with friendly, helpful staff members, and want to travel on a budget, I can't think of anyplace in the area that's better suited to your needs.

Room Tip: If you want a kitchenette, be aware that there is a two burner gas stove, and not an oven. There was...

Recently spent the weekend with my girlfriend at the Inn at Queen Anne in Seattle for the Jet City Comic-Con. First, the location - everything you want or need is nearby; a couple minutes walk from the Space Needle, not far from the Pike Place Market (20 min walk or so), a 24-hour grocery nearby, lots of places to eat, and other neat stores and such all within easy walking distance.
The rooms are not huge or fancy by any means, but clean and quaint and have a fully-equipped kitchenette and small refrigerator, so you can save even more by preparing your own food. Gas stove though, so you may have to ask for matches from the front counter.
Since I mention them, staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Hair dryers are available at the front desk, there's an ice machine and a laundry room; you can either wash your own clothes in their coin-op machines, or spoil yourself and use their laundry service, which is not cheap.
Earplugs may be necessary for light sleepers, as the area is quite busy, and the A/C unit lets in a lot of street noise. We had no problem with this, but some might.
Parking is cheap at $15 per night, but not very convenient, as it's in the underground garage at the neighboring Marqueen Hotel. It's valet parking, so they can have it ready for you on request, but you have to walk the block or so to get it.
This was a non-issue for us, as we didn't need it all weekend, and felt safe knowing it was secure in a locked garage.
There is coffee available in the lobby, which is adequate for a caffeine fix, but those with more discerning tastes might just want to go to the Starbuck's immediately around the corner.
It's admittedly not everyone's cup of tea, but we enjoyed it enough to make it our go-to place to stay when we next visit Seattle, and to recommend it to all our acquaintances who are considering visiting the city.

Room Tip: No elevator or luggage service, so those with lots of bags may want to choose a ground floor room.

This Inn has to be one of the best kept secrets in Seattle, the location is great if you have something going on at the Key Arena. It's not for everyone, it's a older hotel but nicely done. The biggest plus has to be the staff, very friendly and helpful. The only down side was the limited parking available.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are quieter.

We're also glad you didn't opt to stay at a downtown high rise! :) We're proud of our gem of a neighborhood and glad you were able to experience its charm as well as our friendly and helpful staff at the Inn. Thanks for staying with us!

Stayed at the Inn at Queen Anne for 3 nights in August. Granted, it's not for everyone, but if you like comfort, convenience, cleanliness and value, this hotel is for you. It's a great location just around the corner from the Seattle Center and close to so many really wonderful restaurants. There's a real neighborhood feel here. Front desk folks could not have been more helpful. So glad we didn't opt for high rise in downtown!

Room Tip: No elevators, so ask for first floor if this is a problem.

We stayed here on the way to an Alaska Cruise. They offered a special with a Towncar airport pickup and drop off the next day to the cruise ship. It was on time. If you are going on an Alaska Cruise this is a great place to stay for night before the cruise. Brad was very accommodating in helping get all of our party to the hotel even though we had different flight times.

This is a historical hotel built in 1918 so do expect all the modern amenities but the location and the staff make up for any shortcomings. Very convenient to all the main tourist attractions of Seattle and there is a 24 hour grocery store just up the street that has all kinds of healthy organic food and produce.

One of the desk clerks Devin is a photographer and he had lots of tips on the best places to take great shots of Seattle. He also had a creative solution for a member of my party that needed to hook up a piece of medical equipment. Remember this is an older building.

The rooms were clean and even though there is a busy street outside there was little noise in the rooms even with a window open. I suspect it could get noisy after an event at the sports arena down the street. Lots of nice restaurants in the area within one to two blocks.

Room Tip: If you don't like street noise ask for a room further back...some rooms have basic kichens

Thank you so much for your thorough and thoughtful review. We are so glad that the cruise package worked out well for you, and that you enjoyed your experience at the Inn At Queen Anne. While our building is full of historic charm, we always strive to provide the best, most personalized customer service that we can. I'm so glad to hear that Devin, and the rest of our staff whom you encountered, were such excellent representations of the caliber of customer service that we wish to provide. We hope to see you the next time your travel plans bring you to the Seattle area, even if it's not for a cruise!

Located in the heart of Queen Anne. Lots to do in this area. Easy acess to down town Seattle. Cab fare is only about 7 dollars to Pioneer Square from here. The rooms are cozy and as expected for a historical hotel. The service was friendly and very helpful. Price was good. Would definitely stay here again.

i scoured the net trying to find a place to stay in seattle cheaply. Just needed one night close to where I needed to pick up my car the next day. (i got in to late to get car the same day) This hotel was the cheapest and closest walk to car rental place. I got the room for 99 bucks. thats a deal in seattle....it had a little mini kitchen in it too. But I wasn't there to use it. It is very noisy (in my terms) from road traffic...so I put the fan on to drown it out. Its not the Hilton, kind of worn down but if looking for cheap digs not bad. People at front desk very helpful and nice. Great grocery store right up street...metropolian....I LOVED that store. Around the block was many bars, stores and restaurants. Close to space needle and not far from the water. Not sure I would stay there again. In fact I had to book a place to stay last night of my trip before flight out next day and I was going to stay there again but went with Warwick instead....but that was $179. awesome spot....but thats another review.
