“Good Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Take a look at the reviews for Hotel Seattle and you'll see how easy it is to pick on this hotel. I'm staying here now, have been for 4 days, and I could list dozens of "deficiencies" in need of some attention. But I'm here for the chamber music at Benaroya, and you can't beat this location for that. Access to Pike Street Markets and the monorail to the Space Needle are also outstanding. And my cost for a double room with bath is astonishingly low compared with any other hotel in the vicinity. The hearty breakfasts and German specialty lunches at Bernard's downstairs also can't be beat for quality at incredibly low prices. You can ride the light rail in from SEATAC airport to University station and you're a block away from the hotel. Unless you're the fussy type who can't stand anything worn or out of date, just relax and enjoy the "retro" decor. The staff is attentive/receptive, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable; in short, the Ritz it's not, but Hotel Seattle offers centrally located, decently appointed quarters at bargain rates.

Room Tip: Traffic noise may keep you awake if you're a light sleeper and want to retire before 11 pm, so i...

This is purely and simply a below average hotel in an above average location.

The sheets and bathroom were clean but the carpet was badly worn and the shower and window curtains were the same?!

You get what you pay for! The staff were nice and helpful and it's a really good city centre location but your a long way from the ritz. If all you need is somewhere to lay your head you'll be happy but if you want anything more from a hotel then go elsewhere.

The Hotel Seattle is a dump. The shower would not drain, the toilet would not flush and when we reported it we were told that the maintenance man would not be able to fix it because it was part of a bigger problem. Thankful there was a Starbucks next door that let us use their restroom. The owner of this place will not put a dime into it, it needs to be completely renovated, wall paper coming off the walls, carpet stained so bad you cannot tell what color it is supposed to be, and we felt like we were taking our lives in our own hands in the elevator. No exaggeration this place is horrible, stay away, maybe the owner will step up to the plate and do the right thing. Go around the corner to the executive, we are next year. Got a room for $25 more there.

Room Tip: Dont take a room period.

Stayed here for two nights during a week spent in Seattle. The prior reviews on here are pretty accurate for what you get. The hotel is NOT updated at all, the room that we stayed in was very, very small. It was pretty dingy, thought I did not find it to be filthy or overly dirty. Probably not professionally cleaned, but nothing made me squeamish about touching anything. Carpets are old, worn and stained, The bathroom, as was the rest of the room, was very no frills, right down to no toilet paper holder on the wall. The toilet paper sits on top of the towel rack which is mounted over the toilet. No real counter space for toothbrushes, or, toilet paper. Bathroom and shower were clean enough, though the water temperature is VERY inconsistent. Bed was a twin, and the mattress was definitely old and not very comfortable. Sheets were clean, which was a plus. No a/c, and no fan. It was definitely very, very warm and keeping the window, which has no screen (on the 11th floor) open wasn't very helpful. We did not sleep well the first night. No wi.fi. Staff were very friendly. We decided to book this hotel because of the price and the location. The location is great and centrally located to almost everything, including the light rail, safeco, bars, restaurants, Pikes Place, etc. If you can deal with dinginess, and only need a place to crash at night, this should be adequate, though if not for the location this place shouldn't cost more than $70 a night.

I was reluctant to book here after seeing the previous reviews, but we were able to secure an amazing price on Expedia.ca and took a chance anyway.
The most important aspect of any hotel on any holiday is: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! This hotel is in the absolute best deal for the location to walk to ANY & ALL of the city's attractions! Smack in the middle of the central core, it is situated between Pionner Square, the Waterfront, & Pike Place market. The space needle is an easy a 15mins walk.
It is NOT luxury but any means, but why does anyone care about the decor???? It has all the basics you could possibly want while visiting a new city. Comfortable beds (not pillows; buy your own down the street from Target), Free WiFi in the lobby (at least it's there and free), and a free safety deposit box is in the lobby and no one but you can get into it.
The service was amazing; each of the many staff members were accomodating, eager to help, and informed about the city and it's amenities. The cleaning was average to a motel quality, but they will provide you with as many towels, soaps, haridryers as you want without complaining.
Unless you are the type of traveler who to stays inside their room for your entire stay, this will meet all your needs; it's amazing how many people complain about their stay after but booked after reading the reviews anyway!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms do not have TV remote controls and they will not provide them; request a room with...

Desolate, repulsive, great location. I stayed for one night, I checked in around 6pm left 6.20-as soon as I saw the room. I would never stay again- not even for $20. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

The price seemed okay since it was located in the downtown section of Seattle, but the place is a hot stinking mess!!! :( the sheets are wrinkled and smell weird...the pillows have no life, the bedding and curtains are from the 1960's, the rug is faded and has 101 stains, the wall paper is peeling, the ceiling is cracking and the tube TV has more snow than New York City has ever scene. Not a Good BUY! So disappointed as I write this review from smelly room 908.

I have stayed for weeks at hostels that were in better condition than this place. The wi-if is only accessible in the cramped lobby with sagging chairs. This place needs to get renovated or just shut down.
