On a recent cruise we had a day in Skagway. It was pouring rain most of the day, so we were looking for inside things to do. We ventured upon a young man in costume out on the street inviting visitors to the Days of 98 Show. We were hesitant due to the price, but really liked the young actors running the place this very historical and intimate theater venue.
The show was about one of Skagway's notorious historical characters, Soapy Smith. It was very informative and humorous at the same time. It was also there that we were introduced to a famous Gold Rush of 98 poet, Robert Service of whom we were to hear more during our visit to the Yukon.
It is off the street a ways, so look for the signs. Great little jewel hidden behind the shop fronts.
