Description: The guests can enjoy the view of the sea from a cosy 80-seat pub on the first floor or from a 40-seat restaurant on the second floor, plus in summer from the restaurant terrace, the pub terrace and a truly unique Beach Terrace reaching to the very edge of the water with 170 seats in total. Menus of the whole house pay great attention to local fish, and there is always a place for smoked plaice, straight from the oven!

Love at first sight. The location - right by the sea -, the food, the service, the (simple) design... we could have stayed forever. They smoke their own salmon - you can see it being taken from the smoker - and get their delicious bread from an artisan bakery. The upside-down boat is a funny touch. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and a gorgeous view. Really a wonderful place.

Everything was great: view, food, service. Perfect to reach by car, not so far away from the city. Children liked the place too.

“A rare gem hidden in the landscape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Staying at the Viimsi Spa Hotel, my wife and I rented bicycles just to explore the landscape and the Natural Park nearby. After 10 minutes' hike to the north, we stumbled across the outdoor museum, and next to it - Paat Restaurant. What a surprise! An outdoor restaurant in the middle of nowhere...

The food was quite delicious, both the seafood and the more traditional meat menu; salads; everything tasty, healthy and also (a detail perhaps) arranged on the plate in an almost artistic manner.

But the scenery...the restaurant is arranged in a semicircle so that you dine with the shores of the gulf of Tallinn starting 15 m from your table; seagulls are overhead, you hear the sound of waves lapping the stones; the horizon stretches out before you (on the other side is Finland they say, but it is not visible due to the earth's curvature). On your left hand side is the open air museum with the quaint old building.

And the beer - here you can get locally (and I mean really locally) brewed beer with the most interesting tastes (unless you opt for the regular A. le Coq, of course). As to the choice of beer, I had to consult the waiter who was able to give me advice.

This is a place I most definitively can recommend. But do try to get there per bicycle - then you can savor the landscape as a dessert.

“Romantic dinner at the seaside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Paat is located outside town, but with a beautiful view to the city over the sea.The palce itself is very stylish. The restaurant is located in the buildign that reminds the boat turned upside down. It is located at the seaside, so you can come out and get close to the sea. From the other side there is a Open air museum.
The menu is not very huge, but well though of. Food was really delicious and the choice of wine, although not rich but fine. We have a nice evening at the terrace, enjoying food, and vew
