When driving thru Georgia on our way to visit family in Florida, we stumbled upon this gem a few years ago. After enjoying an excellent meal, we have stopped back every time. I cannot speak to the "American" meals on the menu as we have not tried them, but the Cuban food is great!

My husband was raised in southern Florida and attended the University of Miami, so he knows some tasty Cuban food when it hits his plate. (Perhaps some of the less satisfied reviewers were unsure as to what to expect from this cuisine?) I had the pork with beans and rice. DH had the shredded beef with the plantains. Little daughter had the chicken soup which was full of shredded meat and rice. Our older daughter had the the pressed Cuban sandwich which was so huge that hubby finished it for breakfast the next day!

The service was very good, we were clearly enjoying the food and the staff knew it. On the night of our visit there was some live music which added to a very nice meal.

The Cuban sandwiches were very greasy and not very tasty. There is NO WAY the Big Papi burger was made of top sirloin beef - I would think it was rather a mix of much lesser quality meats. It was burned to a crisp. The Cuban hamburger did not have any sirloin either, and it too was burned to a crisp. Once we picked the burned outer crust off, the inside was NOT good. The service is also not good, so we have resorted to taking out food out, but I'm afraid this is the last bad meal we get from Papi's. We're done with this place.

We go for the roast pork plate. The entree and sides are very good. Service has always been good, even when they have been completely full with a line waiting. When the weather is decent, we prefer the patio for a more relaxed atmosphere.

The service lacked after the drink came. All down hill from there. I likedy mojito but my companion did not. The empanada sampler was very good but needs a sauce to dip them in.
The meat in our entrees were tough and dry. Plantains and rice w beans are pretty good, not great. Prices are good if the food was better. Good size entrees but NO dressing on the side salads??? This place needs a little more improvement considering the one in midtown Atlanta is TERRIFIC!
