Owner description: Odrupgaard is an exclusive art museum with a collection that includes names such as Monet, Gauguin, Matisse, Renoir and Hammershoi. Initially, the museum building served as a manor house. You can still sense the atmosphere throughout the old rooms and the park. Additionally, you can experience temporary exhibitions and (on weekends) visit the renowned Danish architect Finn Juhl's house which is a part of the museum. The sculptural extensional adjacent building is designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid. How to get there: Take the S-train to Klampenborg or Lyngby Station, and then take bus 388 to Vilvordevej. It is a 2-minute walk from there to the museum.

“The exhibition was very interesting and well explained.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014 via mobile

We went to Ordrupgaard for the exhibition about the disagreement between Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gaugin in the yellow house in Arles, France in the 1880's.
The exhibition was very interesting and well explained. The ordinary exhibition was also very good. And the cafeteria served a nice light lunch at a reasonable price.

“Interesting Art Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

In the small village Charlottenlund is located an Art Museum named Ordrupgaard. There are frequently changing art exhibitions, but the house collection is surely worth your visit. Impressive is the garden with huge beautiful statues and also an area with funny mirrors.
The location is fabulous attractive with views over the Öresund sea. The coastal area along the Öresund is very enjoyable in its own right, with beautiful estates and gardens. Highly recommended, and not too far from Copenhagen town, about halve an hour drive.

“The highlight of our trip to Copenhagen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

The location of this museum/gallery is amazing! It was a little further out of Copenhagen but not tricky to get to if you follow the directions on their website - we walked back to the station at the end of the visit to enjoy being out in the country (it was autumn and the leaves were turning).
The architecture (old and new) was beautiful and the gardens very peaceful.

It's worth going there if you have a love of midcentury architecture as Finn Juhl's house is just wonderful. I found it hard to leave!

“A piece of jewl!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

The museum is located just north to the city. The museum's garden is so beautiful that it's worth going there even for just a cup of coffee. The art selection is nice & the new wing which was planned by Zaha Hadid is magnificent. There is also a very nice garden sculpture by Jeppi Hein. Don't miss it. You can go there by train to klampenborg & then take bus 388 to Vilvordevej or a bus A1 from the city to Klampenborg & then bus 388
