My wife and I toured the Sealife Center in Seward and paid the extra money to do the seabird encounter. We basically got a "backstage" tour of the facility and a chance to feed the puffins, auklets, common murres, and other seabirds. It was a really nice up-close, hands-on experience to remember. We spent about 1.5 hours at the center, touring all of the exhibits (one of my favorites was the seal aquarium) and feeding the seabirds. They also have a nice "please touch" tank with all manner of sea life like sea urchins, starfish, anemones, etc. A great place for kids, even though we don't have any.
